I had the problem again yesterday afternoon. This is so weird, I don't understand why it works fine on my Mogul and not on my Touch. I would think Windows Mobile 6.1 is the same on both devices? (the core files anyway).

From your data you posted it's obvious that the phone is not sending the correct ping info out. I don't have access to our companies IT department to verify that's what happening to me but it sounds logical. I work for a very large corporation so I'm sure the server side should be up to date with all the latest patches etc.?
Do not fret, it is not your exchange server that is at fault...it is definitely a problem with the ActiveSync on the phone...The issue might be happening on your Mogul too (if you wait long enough) if you do have the same Windows Mobile 6.1...Maybe compare the following files in your Windows directory of both phones:

actsyncc.dll
repllog.exe

Those two are core components of ActiveSync...there might be more, not sure at the moment.

From what I have found on Microsoft Support Board:

The problem seems to be the connection for direct push email is not staying on.
...
Microsoft is full aware of this issue and working on it

Re: Exchange server/ push mail not syncing consistantly?

Ah, but what about those that have 6.0? I have not upgraded my Verizon touch (since obviously there is no official upgrade for it) and suddenly the problems started. Should I take my phone in and exchange?

I compared the files on the Mogul to those on the Touch, they are identical.

I deactivated my Mogul and switched to the Touch about 3 weeks ago and I'm positive I never saw this behavior on the Mogul before I switched.

It was out again all last night. My last email received was at 6:49PM and when I woke up this morning I had no new mail so I hit send/receive and sure enough, about 10 emails showed up. The first had been sent at 8:40PM last night. So somewhere between 6:50 and 8:40 it stopped working and never recovered.

Re: Exchange server/ push mail not syncing consistantly?

I'm having a problem with activesync on the phone popping up periodically asking me to enter my exchange password -- I've entered it numerous times and set it to save the password. Doesn't happen every time -- maybe once every day or two. Any idea why that would be? I'm using mobiPush to push the emails.

Re: Exchange server/ push mail not syncing consistantly?

I am receiving emails ok after I unchecked SSL using mail2web but I cannot send emails unless I go into active sync itself and hit Sync. Then the email goes from my outbox and it send. Within my mail application I cannot manually send by hitting Send/Receive as it is greyed out and not an option. Any ideas? Sounds like a problem with Active Sync itself to me.

BTW, I am running the latest official Touch ROM from HTC's site.

Re: Exchange server/ push mail not syncing consistantly?

I am not sure if this is related...

I am the exchange admin at my company. I started seeing the same symptoms you describe. I temporarily switched off "forms based authentication" on the exchange server...problems went away. I switched it back on...guess what...problems STAYED gone. I did notice the same behaviour in my logs...sometimes the phone would send authentication information...sometimes it wouldn't. After doing this...it didn't matter. Sync works perfectly all day and I have flashed the phone with several (okay 11) different builds and it still syncs perfectly after each. I am currently running the official release (for about a week) and it has not dropped sync once. Hope this helps someone. Just my 2 cents.

For me at least, it seems the phone couldn't reliably deal with the forms login (if using OWA, it's the screen that looks like a starndad outlook login...if forms is turned off, you see a standard username and password prompt instead of the graphical login.)

Re: Exchange server/ push mail not syncing consistantly?

I just wanted to update the status on this.

Last week my exchange password expired so I was forced to set a new one. Ever since then my mail has been syncing flawlessly? No more issues of it not syncing my mail as it arrives.

I've been running WM6.1 against an Exchange 2007 server for months and have never had the problem. I'm not saying this proves anything, but just making you aware that the problem you are having is not affecting everyone with WM6.1.
