Re: Overclocking the Touch??

As far as im concerned the cdma has two processors arm11 and arm9, one for the radio, one for the system. It is impossible (or not yet done) to overclock the main possessor without messing up the other. Maybe in the future, but not now.
ps: this has been discussed many times over at xda
pps:to avoid confusion, htc performance (an overcklocking program) does not affect the speed of the cdma touch, it just does not say that it didnt making it seem like it did.

Re: Overclocking the Touch??

if u want a snappier interface i would suggest getting a custom rom (i personally use OMJ) and make the page pool 24mb. I have done that and it makes the phone very quick in the interface (the progs run the same)

Re: Overclocking the Touch??

you Can overclock the CDMA touch's, the program I use is called HTC performance, avail at

it allows you to run your cdma touch at either stock speeds, 520mhz, or if your brave enough 624 mhz.

like overclocking anything, you risk burning out your processor sooner due to more heat, etc. over clocking your touch will also 'void' it's warranty if they can prove you ran it

I take no credit for thie program, I had nothing to do with the development, I just came across it and am passing on the link to someone else's work

edit: shortcut will be found in settings>system>performance

edit - doesn't work, you can't overclock the cdma touch's

Re: Overclocking the Touch??

This overclocking does not work it was made for htc devices with older chipsets, not the Qualcomm processor's that are found in our devices today...It was made for the intel PXA processor here is a link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...=357010&page=2

A slower processor might have a lower battery drain, but again it depends on the processor. An Intel Atom running at 1.6GHz uses a lot less power than an Athlon64 at 1.6GHz!

Anyway, I still wish my Diamond was faster. My Asus A696 PDA with an Intel PXA270 400MHz CPU seems a lot snappier than the Diamond. Even so, I wouldn't give up the Diamond for anything right now. That screen is great :P
