Re: Known Verizon Issue with cracked outer casing

i called bell today and found out what the issue with these housings was as its happening to all white cdma touches, he explained that the issue is a factory problem with the housings and all touches will be replaced free of charge as long as they are in their warranty period. Other than that he told me that the housing problem is a combination of exposure to pressure and a difference in the chemical composition of the housing itself and that the issue is fixed in the new replacements.. hope this helps

Re: Known Verizon Issue with cracked outer casing

Add me to those with the cracked housing. I'm not sure what I'm going to do, as I too have a cooked rom. If anyone has successfully reverted back to vzw stock, please post the directions you followed or the thread you used. Much appreciated!

Re: Known Verizon Issue with cracked outer casing

Just happened to me too, and I have a cooked rom.. Its really going to be a pain to deal with. Besides looking crappy does anyone know how bad it gets? Does it spread to the screen plastic or cause any functionality issues?

Crack here. I'm not going to both with getting it replaced. If anything, I'm going to buy a different cover and replace it myself instead.

In that case you should buy the black. I am going to do that when mine cracks next.

Re: Known Verizon Issue with cracked outer casing

I've seen some colored ones out there too. Would love to find a red one...

...or have someone custom make an all aluminum enclosure...

ebay has the gsm variety. But alltel just came out with the red (actually it's burgandy) cdma housing. If you find where to get it, please post. Thanks!

Re: Known Verizon Issue with cracked outer casing

I did a search earlier. Someone on here has figured out how to cram the CDMA phone into the GSM housing, but I don't think I want to deal with that. I'll hold out for the Alltel one. I have a red Dell laptop, so having a red phone would be incredible.

Re: Known Verizon Issue with cracked outer casing

Has anyone with a cooked rom had their phone replace. Any problems in doing so? I know it voids your warranty but this issue is in no way software related.
