Re: Bell Mobility Users ROMS?

It works pretty well with Garmin. I find you don't really need it to be that accurate with driving gps software. I did some geocaching testing with Geoscout today and it did pretty well even in the tall trees. Got some bounce but was able to find 2 of 3 geocaches we seached for. Walking speeds and tall trees can give lots of gps devices fits.

Re: Bell Mobility Users ROMS?

A little update,

my gps has been ok for the past day or two. I actually lost it for a while (no locks but could still see) but I messed around with it for a bit and got it back eventually. I just did the same steps that I did before and it now locks again after 10 secs.

One thing I have noticed is that I can only get 4 sat locks max. It doesnt seem like my phone is able to get more according to gpstoday or gpsviewer. Anybody get more than 4 actual locks?

cheers

Re: Bell Mobility Users ROMS?

i just got back from a trip from the states for the long weekend, used the gps all weekend long. locked onto more than 8 sats at points. It averaged about 6-7 sats and worked perfectly.... love this thing and im gonna miss it, cant wait for my replacement touch and flash it to the gps radio

Re: Bell Mobility Users ROMS?

I was using gps today, but I hated having it on my today screen, last few times I have used the gps I just fired up google maps and it locked within 1 minute so I have turned it off entirely.

When I was using it I used your settings and had it turned on max sensitivity.

Re: Bell Mobility Users ROMS?

So after a few days of playing around..............

seems the gps is kinda sketchy to say the least. ISometimes I will run gpsviewer and it will do the same thing and "look" at a bunch of sats but give no locks. Then I have to toggle the "use agps" as I explained previously including soft reseting. And then I turn on gpsviewer and it will lock within a few minutes. I have been running quickgps just for kicks but I'm not too sure if its actually working. After getting the initial lock I can turn off gpsviewer completely and the gps will work for a while after that when using Live search. I have been able to use live search for a bit, turn it off for an hour or two, then use live search again, all with a gps lock (cant be sure how many locks when using live search) in under 10 secs.

Anyways, hope all is well with other bell gps users, hopefully someone can figure out a less sketchy way of getting gps to work!

cheers

Re: Bell Mobility Users ROMS?

After playing with this for a while I find that the GPS will stop working after a fwew days. It seems that you only have to toggle the A gps setting to get it to work. i.e. if it is enabled I just disable it then it will lock after a about a min. If it stops working again I enable it and starts working again. I think this is the same as the registry 2 to 4 change some people are doing as well.

Using Radio 3.37.15 and OMJ.WM6.1.GPS.Sprint.Custom.v2.exe though I would like to switch to Ghettofreeryder rom for a more Canadian version.
