Re: Verizon VX6900 - Altell ROM
Hi, I flashed my 6900 to OMJ's latest ROM. I wasn't able to soft restart on the customizations so that went through. Had an issue with my phone authentication, but verizon customer service was able to fix that. So here's my outstanding issues thus far, the OS locks up often, my GPS is not working. Tried google maps and says my handset is not compatible with My locator. Tried Live Search and says GPS is not found. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Is there a way I can revert back to the Verizon image?

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=24979 aka get it to cokes 2.31 bootloader, flash to alltel rom, then to your custom one aka OMJs? You said you couldnt reset during the customizatons.... I dont think it matters for the customizations for the 2nd custom rom u add. but the 1st alltel one it seems like you must softreset there. Not sure about reverting to original image. i see this about unbricking your phone http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=24906 and this about stock roms http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=19071 (although reading towards the end im not sure youll want to do that. as you have a 3.xx radio and i heard reverting back to a stock rom that does 1.xx radio isnt recommended. ). btw thats not official stock rom, its a dump so not exact as factory rom i think. id prob move to the alltel, vista, or OMJ rom. might want to wait until the smart cellphone peeps answer your question better. might want to ask in those threads as well. Im running OMJ's currently and compared to ghettoryders's vista700, they both have their strengths. both have been stable. OMJs GPS functionality worked alot better for me. today it locked on out of 15 times i tested.... 4 times within 30 seconds, 4 times within 1 minute. 3 times within 5 minutes. 2 times within 15minutes. 2 times too long. so waited till i got home. i still have to test it more but my data usage past 1.5 weeks has been 130$ and on my family phone plan and i am running 230$ lol. i just found out lol. i saw on verizonwireless.com for my phone that adding the unlimited data is 45$ a month versus some peeps who say they are getting $30 a month. Some claim to get the 30$ but i dunno. i havent seen the price offered? anyone know? Last edited by arianhojat; 05-18-2008 at 01:01 AM. |

Re: Verizon VX6900 - Altell ROM
Thanks. Heard its was $30 when bought online when it first came out. $45 now. One thing I noticed about the OMJ also is that it drains my battery fairly quick. Other's have posted that as well. I'll try and reflash with just the alltel and see what happens. Yes, I saw the post about rolling back to the original OEM is not recommended. Do you know if the info will be the same as before, so I can still be under warranty?

Re: Verizon VX6900 - Altell ROM
I think its pretty ridiculous i am paying much more for phone internet/data than DSL and i cant do half the cool things on my phone versus my PC.
When will phone companies learn. i am already paying 70 for my portion of family plan, now expect me to add 45? heh. the price it should be around is max $15, thats what i would pay for internet/data on my phone heh. you might want to try Vista's rom, i thought it was real stable, lower battery usage i think. GPS though was eh. BTW I drove to a Stone Temple Pilots concert tonight (wooo hooo STP!!!) and i saw myself moving across google maps which was cool, before i turned off data connection (dont want to be charged alot hehe). and gives me more faith in OMJ's rom Last edited by arianhojat; 05-19-2008 at 03:25 AM. |
