Re: Verizon VX6900 - Altell ROM
Well Soccer, I gave that cab a shot but it didn't work. It "installs" correctly as far as I can see but when you go to remove programs you don't see 'Arcsoft' listed and more importantly nothing new shows up in messaging... no MMS. It must "connect" to something else which is present in your ROM but not in mine (Alltell).
But, I did try another cab that is floating around the forums: ArcsoftMMS_v4.2.8.1.cab That one installs, shows up in add/remove program, and with a registry hack (Verizons MMS settings for Arcsoft 4281.reg) magically appears in messaging! Sweet! So then--Soccer--I plugged in your MMS server settings... sent a test PIC to myself and I just get "error synchronizing". Hmmm... I see some other folks had the same error, but I haven't found a resolution yet. Incidentally, I did a ton of experimenting with the GPS today driving around. It definitely takes 5 minutes in google maps to get a lock... and its a good idea to sit in the parking lot while searching... but once locked, it's solid. |

Re: Verizon VX6900 - Altell ROM
you have to do a soft reset after installing the cab. but it works for me.. also i tried to get a lock the whole way to the beach(15 mins) and i wasnt able to get one.. my gps is always hit or miss

Re: Verizon VX6900 - Altell ROM
Yeah... I naturally tried soft reset. Didn't make any difference.
I've noticed that if I start driving with no lock then there is only about a 60% chance of getting one. However if I wait for it to lock before moving, then I'm good to go. Also I noticed that putting it up in the windshield made it lock much faster than down in the cupholder... |

Re: Verizon VX6900 - Altell ROM
I had the same issue... I did some research and was told to create a new Data connection to Verizon under Settings->Connections->Connections, and tell Arcsoft MMS to use that new connection instead, and sending MMS works fine now.

Re: Verizon VX6900 - Altell ROM
Hmm.. I gave it a shot. When I go into MMS / Options / Servers / 'Connect Via' I get a list of servers ("My Work Network" "My ISP" "Secure WAP Network") which is totally different than the connections listed in settings / connections / connections...
