Re: How-to: Cube Edits/mods/creation
From what I've read on these forums I guess this Cube program just doesn't work for an AT&T Tilt phone; or changes can't be made to the cube
I can't get to the soft-reset point because once I've chosen the Icon Path and Press Path, I click Save at the bottom left and I receive a prompt of "Contacts failed updated." Whether I reset or not, the changes are not there; probably because of that "failed updated" prompt which is very discouraging. Is there a Cube program that works with the AT&T Tilt glitch free? Thank you for all the help so far! Last edited by Dolce Blonde; 03-31-2008 at 07:27 PM. |

Re: How-to: Cube Edits/mods/creation
Musicman,
Can you explain how you make the bmp files for the animations? That is, these are semi-rotated cubes, or in your iCube the graphics are "squeezed" out. Each bmp changes the perspective (or viewing angle) slightly. How are you creating the graphics with each bmp? |

Re: How-to: Cube Edits/mods/creation
For the iCube I used Gimp and skewed each frame individually. I took the static image of each side, skewed it to a certain degree, then pasted the next slides side, also skewed, into the image. It was a long, tedious process and was imperfect in its implementation.
For MacFlo I used Macromedia Flash 5 to create the animations, and it was much easier, especially since there were so many elements moving at the same time. Flash has an option to export each frame as a bmp, so as soon as I had the animation correct I had all the frames perfectly placed and spaced. I hope this is what you were asking. I know that Polen used Photoshop to achieve the rotation effect, and even shared his process files. I think they are on the first Vista Cube thread.

Re: How-to: Cube Edits/mods/creation
I read this over and over and was able to change several icons using cube config on my touch, but for some reason I can't figure out how to link an icon to "my pictures" which are located on my storage card.
Can anyone help? I am a nube and for some reason just can't figure this out. Quote:
