Regedits

Actually I was referring to your built-in edits to the registry as annotated below:

Regedits:
Disabled Error Reporting
Screen Brightness Changes
Power Timeout Changes
Cleartype Enabled
TouchFLO Enabled
Camera Button Changed
Increased Phone Services
Enabled Call Duration
Changed DNS to OpenDNS IPs
Disabled Multi-NAI
Changed Default IS Connection to Sprint PCS
Enabled Bluetooth in IS
Disabled In Call Volume Sounds
Enabled File Cache
Increased Glyph Cache
Added Network Performance Tweaks
Added SDK Certs

Some of these are really important and having them included in the ROM saves a LOT of time. Executing a random .cab file is a no-brainer, but ferreting out the appropriate registry entries and making sure your syntax is right, etc is a pain.

I'm soooooo close to cooking my own...

Oh I gotcha ya now!

Why don't you join to club?

I like building my ROM, I just wish I knew how I could tweak even more performance out of it.

If you're right, I get it. I just wonder if it really is the pagepool that is causing all that. Even with many programs running, I still think there is plenty of available memory. The only problem I have had, has been with the talk and end 'hard' keys not working intermittently. I have to think something else is conflicting with the operating system, or it's a function of WM6.1 meshed with the Sprint Radio... ie. the Sprint Radio portion of the phone was designed using WM6.0 and maybe there are some minor issues with using 6.1.

Someone has to know what the optimum page pool is... ??

Thanks for your help...
By the way, you didn't answer my question. Did you make any special regedits to your ROM?

MrGeoff,
I am currently running your v1. I like it although I'm having issues with talk and end hard buttons as I've mentioned. Other than that, everything is running pretty smoothly. What, other than UC, would I gain by going to v3?

Oh, and for both MrGeoff and Jak, what program do you use to take the place of the extremely useful 'QuickMenu' ??

By the way, I have never had a lockup or crash on any of the 6.1 ROMs from this Forum. I really think it has more to do with some of the 3rd party software out there that ends up being incompatible.

?

v3 is mostly for UC. v4 will have some goodies back in it.

I use Enlarge Start Menu + HTC Home Launcher tab. I like to keep that start menu clean. I don't dig in the settings enough to have it all laid out on the start menu. The apps I use the most are in my launcher.

Please direct any v4 questions to my thread

(Hopefully by this weekend... I have a business trip that all I need to do is "recover" the database. The analysts have to verify everything so I should have some downtime during that period.)

This ROM is designed for the HTC Touch. If you try to install it on any other device (such as the wing), you will brick your phone.

You can find a bunch of wing ROMs on XDA though. Good luck!
