Well this is the response I got. I am convinced this is ground for the lawsuit for false advertisement. I am no lawyer, but I sure can pick up a pitch fork and wooden torch. Whos with me?

Because the time and money HTC and Sprint spend responding to all these emails and defending a potential lawsuit, is going to drive up the price of any future offerings, if not limit the products Sprint passes on.

It's bad enough that in the CDMA world we have a limited selection as most manufacturers focus on GSM markets.

Ohh dear god! that was funny! opinion like rectal canals, everyone has one. That was hilarious!But on a serious note, advertising the qualcomm 7500 as the best solution with god all mighty powers and then saying "Sorry, we didnt get that chip. Instead we threw in a Dorito.

You're right! Just like on XDA, there's a wealth of information on here.

However, eventhough this post started off on a very positive note (which is what drew me in here) talking about coming up with a work-around/fix, as soon as someone (kellybrf) chimed in with an unpopular opinion, they were imediately dubbed "Sprint's lapdog" by EtherealRemnant.

At the same time, we've got some of the same people here, dropping F-bombs left and right in the parallel thread "this might piss you off a bit", but you're not going to take issue with that, now are you!?

You all completely miss the point..................We DID NOT BUY these phones from HTC

Sprint bought these devices from HTC and if they wanted the video drivers enabled could have specified them to be. Anything Sprint wanted in these devices could have been there. If Sprint wanted Sprint TV in the Mogul, it WOULD HAVE BEEN THERE.

HTC will never go behind a partners back and give in to a user group demands if Sprint does not want it done. Sprint could get the video drivers, just as Sprint can get the GPS done.

Obviously, with the Touch, Sprint has moved into a different direction. The Mogul will get the revA upgrade, we will be LUCKY to get the GPS, and possibly WM 6.1.

Sprint will come out with a new LOADED mogul-like phone and sell a load of them before they will enable the video chipset. Its all about dollars and cents. The ONLY WAY Sprint would possibly act on this is to lose tens or hundreds of thousands of customers over this specific issue

I think people are talking out their butts without REALLY reading up on the problem. the classaction site has good technical info. If youre happy with the video then cool. BUT realize this problems extends into other aspects- far more than the surface which has been discussed. It runs as deep as the camera application, slow time to take pictures after pressing the button, choppy IE scrolling, choppy program scrolling (opera etc), slow redraw, slow gaming, slow video, etc.
1. Lawyers charge big bucks for consultations just like litigation.

2. Where did I say I was happy with mine? Or that there's nothing wrong/can't be better? There's always room for improvement - just a matter of do you try to actually work through things or bitch about it.

3. Where did I call anybody any names? Where did I start "dropping swears left and right"?

Oh well, really doesn't matter.

How about posting something meaningful - has anyone actually tried the fix proposed by the OP, or did we all just jump on the soap box?

both of you need to stop arguing, and direct you energy and insults to Htc. Remember, they are the ones who didnt write the drivers.
