This problem must be a conflict with something built into the Touch. There have been several reports of folks who've narrowed the trigger to a bit of 3rd party software they've installed (PocketPlus, Batti, etc...) but the underlying cause must be some interaction between those apps and something built-in like the keyboard SIPs that are unique to the Touch. Unfortunately there seems to be no way to disable the Touch SIPs, so I don't know how we'd test this.

I get it every single time I exit Sprint TV - anyone out there with a vanilla config still? If so can you try Sprint TV and exit?

I agree, by having users with stock devices having this issue, and other users reporting it with different 3rd party apps, it must be something on the device's software itself... not 3rd party apps.

All we can do is let HTC know so it can maybe be fixed on the next ROM update.

Not a deal breaker, though. Just mildly annoying.

I think there are two issues - sometimes it comes up on its own in a vanilla set up however it comes up VERY frequently with the SPB software. If the SPB software didn't trigger it to happen frequently, I could live with the occassional ones with the vanilla set up (frankly I never had it happen once with a vanilla set up but I'll accept that it does occur but I don't think nearly as often as with the SPB software). I've notified both HTC and SPB however I think SPB is more likely to have a fix for their own app quicker.

It seems that every time the Cellular radio is used it pops up the Phone app instead of using it in the background (PIE, SMS, any data service), so that when you close the app, there's the phone!

I initially installed the beta 4.02 pocket plus and got the phone most often when installing cab files (though not as often as others seem to get it). The problem seemed to disappear when I disabled plus's x-button feature (used wisbar for that). Now I never see the phone app. Of course, I installed several other programs, so it could also be something else.

I don't think Vista is the cause anyway. What's really weird is that (knocking on wood...) this issue seems to have disappeared for me.

Has anyone here contacted HTC or SPB? The response I got from SPB leads me to believe they haven't tested this app on the Touch which is understandable as there are hundreds of WM phones and this issue seems unique to the Touch. If you get a chance you may want to let them know as they might think I'm the only one with this issue unless you notify them - http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/prod...estion.html?en
