This is bothersome to say the least. Has this happened to anyone else right out of the box? The first thing I did when I got my Touch was to start installing apps so mine wasn't "stock" for very long. If this is related to any of the pre-installed HTC software, it might be difficult to fix this problem.

Um - yes I do read. In fact, I read the whole thread (I'm the one who started it). I asked if it had happened to anyone else (meaning anyone else who had not yet posted in the thread). I understand that it had happened to you as well - I just chose to quote klurf in my reply. Back on topic, can anyone replicate the issue using the same exact method I posted in the first post in this thread?

Not the exact same since I do not use the HTC Home Today plug-in, but following the steps after creating the new SMS winds up with the same result.

I'm going to do a backup and hard reset later tonight. I've seen the problem completely unrelated to the sms application. Haven't been able to pinpoint it yet (I had the problem out of the box, but it hasn't ever been consistent). I hope HTC comes up with a solution for this. BTW, is anyone having this problem thats not using the Sprint touch?

I have a mogul and have not experienced this prob any. I have tried the SPB pocket plus 4 and didn't have the prob with that but still liked the htc home app better. I have been running the htc home app for a while now and haven't experienced this either. I was thiinking about trading my mogul in for a touch - is it as simple as just closing the phone app when this happens or do you have to do anything else to get back to the today screen?

In my case, it is directly related to the SBP PPC 4 app. Everytime I install that, the phone starts popping up. Its only slightly annoying, so I keep the program installed.

It's more annoying that anything else - all you need to do is close the phone app and that's it. There doesn't seem to be any clear reason why it happens though and that is what's disconcerting.

I found what was doing it on my phone.
I dont use SBD so I knew it wasnt that. Turned out it was my battery thing-a-ma-bob. I forget its name but its the one that shows the battery health along the top of the screen.

Once I removed it I havnt had the phone pad pop up on me.

Edit* battery app CAB is called "Batti-1.3 ARM"

Try Vista Battery - works great.
