Re: Touch not waking up from Sleep Mode for Calls and TXT

OK, shooting in the dark, i have had this problem off and on forever and also on the Treo 700p. Just read ALL of the posts, if you read them all it does seem clear that:
1)this is NOT a 3rd party software issue
2)this is NOT related to manufacture date (10/26/07 for me, btw)
3)NOT a battery issue (several posts confirming this)
4)NOT a slot setting issue (though I think there has been only 1 post from a user that has modified this stating it didn't work)
At least 1 person noted that disabling ActiveSync helped. So here is my theory: Do folks who are having this trouble use direct push email or email that is set to check frequently? I have noticed that even in strong signal areas, the phone can get flakey with the network (random shifting between 1x and EvDO) and IF the phone is on 1x and there is an active data session (email checking) then all calls and notifications will roll to voicemail. This has DEFINITELY been a factor for me (though this may not be the issue for others). Anyone?
Also, been using a custom ROM (6.1 Derek's v.10) for quite a while now, and this has not been an issue but i'm NOT stating that as a solution, just noting it... (knock on wood)...

Obviously, if the phone is in 1xRTT mode, all calls will be routed to voicemail and any notifications will be delayed until after the data session is terminated.

I agree with you on all 4 of your points. I've never had the problem but I also check my email manually, not via direct push.

Re: Touch not waking up from Sleep Mode for Calls and TXT

I am having the same apparently random troubles mentioned above. After soft reset it clears for a while.

I am using Activesync OTA with an corporate Exchange server. Activsync is set to automatically send/receive emails. (Is that the same as "direct push email"?)

However, I didn't notice if it was shifting between 1x and EvDO. I will watch for that next time it happens.

Re: Touch not waking up from Sleep Mode for Calls and TXT

I dont know if this will help anyone, but i have had the same freezing problem issues as everyone else where the calls and texts dont go thru. I also have the standard hacks and what not but i seemed to have fixed my problem. All i did was uninstall the battery and performance hack, soft reset. After that i have not had that problem anymore and it has been a week since. No more soft resets for me and im enjoying it. Try it and see if it works. Hope it does for you all.

I think you are on to something there as I've mentioned elsewhere. I had odd things occur also with the battery perf. hack. Haven't had a problem since removing it.

Re: Touch not waking up from Sleep Mode for Calls and TXT

I had the problem with the battery hack on my old touch, I didn't install it on the new one. That makes sense. it is the one thing i didn't do because I didn't see any advantage.

Re: Touch not waking up from Sleep Mode for Calls and TXT

I haven't done any hacks on mine (yet) and it still does it. I have installed quite a few applications. But I have not gone through the ardous task of eliminating them one at at time until a solid common thread begins to show itself.

Maybe I should apply the battery and performance hack and then remove it?

Re: Touch not waking up from Sleep Mode for Calls and TXT

I don't know, but I have not had any issues on my new Touch. I will probably not notice them anymore as it is now on my secondary number, but it wasn't happening before I esn swapped it over either.

Although now that I think about it, it was doing it before any mods, I got the ins ordered, then modded in case of a bricking.

lol took the words right out of my mouth. I was going to say maybe you should install it and remove it. I havn't quite broken down the cab file and see exactly what it does, but hey if it's already doing it then what harm is there if you try it?

What's the performance & Battery hack? If it's a hack it doesn't come pre-installed on the device. Then that wouldn't be the reason.

We bought 5 of these phones. 4 when they came out and 1 about 3 months ago or little longer. The first 4 don't have that problem the last one does. And we don't any hacks installed on that one.

These are what we observed:
1)After hard reset it works for 2-3 weeks without any problems, then it starts doing it
2)After reboot it works for a few days to sometimes even a week then it starts doing it.

I'm wondering if it's got anything to do with the phone programming that Sprint does on it. That is the only thing that doesn't change when you hard reset the device.

We haven't had a chance to get Sprint to reprogram it, but a few people can do this and report back here maybe we can solve this.
