SprintTV on the Sprint HTC Touch Official Discussion Thread

As of today, is there any Mogul playing SprintTV in any form? I only ask because I recently aquired one and have been trying to install SprintTV but without success. I have tried with two different cab files one called SprintTV_1005.cab (1.92MB) and the other SprintTV_PocketPC_Vogue_1005.cab (804KB), in addition to two sets of cache folders I managed to download one being 74KB (posted on this site on 11-08-2007, 06:45 PM by schettj) and the other 214KB (file sizes when in .zip). Of course, I tried combining the different cabs with caches but makes no difference.

The cache files were placed both in 'windows/cache' and in 'program files/sprinttv/cache' just in case. I have tried replacing the cache files before, during, and after the program is running, to no avail. That folder is always cleared by the SprintTV program anyway.

I have an unlimited data plan so I shouldn't have problems with that aspect.

The result has always been the same: I can open the program and go as far as the channel listings, where there is in fact nothing listed except rarely it may say "loading..." but before anything else happens the program always quits abruptly without warning nor message. I wonder if this is happening to anybody else.

Is there something I am doing wrong or that I am missing? Or is it simply not working for anybody anymore? ...or what? I have read many posts on this subject but this is as far as I have gotten. I'd appreciate any help that could clear this all up!

And by the way on a separate note... can youtube.com videos be viewed on the Mogul? This has been giving me trouble as well...

With a little (hex) work, there you have it. Sprint only. Free previews available. Rest is subscription.

1) Unzip to \Program Files\SprintTV
2) Run the Regs&Shortcut.cab
3) Go to start->programs->SprintTV
4) Enjoy.


Reports so far point to this needing .Net Compact Framework. That installer runs on PC and installs to your PPC on next sync.

Also, if you've had failed attempts at SprintTV before, make sure to delete everything out of \Program Files\SprintTV before installing. That includes the cache folder.

So after following these instructions there hasnt been any progress. Even after installing the .net compact framework 3.5 I get the following error message when trying to open SprintTV:

"The file 'SprintTV' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file."

Any other suggestions?

Yes it show widescreen on the HTC touch(vogue).

I just got a new touch and sprint TV works without any mods. Is this odd?

Is there any way to make the Sprint TV volume louder? The video works fine, but I can barely hear the TV. Is there any hack or something?

Turn on Sprint TV, in landscape mode, the navigation dial on the bottom of your Touch Phone will be to the right of your screen, press the right key to increase volume, enjoy !!!

Thank you very much. I tried it and it worked. At least is some more volume. That was my main complain with the touch. Now I wish I couls see the screen outside, but I know there is nothing we can do about that.=D> Thank you again

For some reason my SprintTV wasnt working. It was like I deleted all th files but the shortcut, which i didnt do. So i went to the mobitv link and installed that cab file. Everything is in working order again.
