- both are small - both can be used on the key ring - both provide exceptional GPS connections - both provide good battery life; i've used each for 6 hours before recharging (not because the batteries were depleted) - both lock onto 8-11 satellites every time i use them on the key ring and/or the dash - both work even if i put them in the glove box, albeit satellite locks will vary between 6-9 satellites in my humble opinion, you can't go wrong with either one... i took a couple of comparison shots for your viewing pleasure. ![]() ![]()

iGuidance 4.0 and GlobalSat 359.
Can't say they are the best because I have not tried everyone yet, but I sure did research a lot and have owned 5 diff navagation packages and 3 receivers. |

Ok I broke down and went all out and bought a BT-5 from geeks.com I paid $35. After two hours of painful set up I got it working!!! It is great! battery life is awsome I have used it for 2 days on one charge and it's still going. The best part is it charges with mini usb. I'm using Live Search and TomTom 6 both work great.
For thoes whom plan on purchasing a BT-5 this is what finaly worked for me. 1. Charge BT-5 2. Turn on and wait 20 sec. 3. Add bluetooth device in Comm Manager (check allow device to bee seen) 4. Use 0000 as passkey 5. Check serial port box. 6. Click Finish 7. Under bluetooth settings add comm port 5 8. Under Settings/Bluetooth GPS/ select com1 for software and com5 for hardware. This worked for me. |

It works
I'm currently using the Freedom Keychain GPS receiver with a combo of Live Search and Google Maps, works great for a free service. I have to use a combo of the two because at times Google have info that Live Search does not and vice versa, but you can’t beat the voice recognition that comes with Live Search.
