Verizon - Official WM 6.1 Update

First off this is my first post. I have been stalking the PPCGeeks forums for months like an ex-boyfriend.

Secondly. I have a 6 month old VX6900. Bone stock for the most part. I followed the simple instructions on this thread.

1) backed info up
2) flashed new 'leaked' rom and let customizations roll
3) after reboot I called verizon and told them I had alot of junk on my phone and did a hard reset. Was told it would always have to be authorized on this model after hard resets (not sure if its true) but was a 60 second painless phone call (no lvl 2).
4) installed Vahalla and did the chages required.

(reboots as needed)

And I am proud to say I love it. Faster, better signal, GPS works great. Thank you to all who have posted files, information, support comments etc. I reccomend this to anyone with a VX6900. especially if its stock. well worth it.

If it's not too much trouble, could you possibly pass on the best place to a) download the correct rom, and b) get a step by step guide to applying the patch - I'm getting the phone this week from Verizon and want to get this thing happening - thanks!

They finally posted the official update on the PCD Phones website.

I've downloaded the update, but I guess I may wait until all the knowledgable people here decide how good this update is. I just got my XV6900 and want to upgrade it...

I grabbed the rom from the first post of this thread. But to be honest. I would wait a few days or so to see if the official release rom works in the same manner with the unlocked GPS, etc first and if people have any issues updating from the first one.
