Sounds like you dont have a phone that was for VZW, or your ESN is a hot ESN. I have never seen this issue.

I purchased this phone direct from verizon myself.

I am so lucky!!! I previously did the gps fixes using qpst and saved the settings read from the phone. I was able to simply load this file and write it to the phone using qpst and wala... my phone works again.

I am going to go change my underwear now.

I did it! I created a ROM that is 100% stock VZW with standard GPS drivers. It works perfect. If anyone is interested then reply in my post.

Another happy camper after fixing the phone number change issue. The only issue I am having is trying to replace verizons home plug in. I tried using HHC but that doesn't seem to allow true customization of the home plug in. ie I can't get the additional contacts and audio player tabs added.

I followed the instructions with valhalla's gps fix and have google maps, live search and gps today working without a hitch. Download speeds and websites are definately faster. Can't say I really like the opera version over the current beta mobile release though. It is less buggy.

Any suggestions.

So here I am back at this thread after being deflated following scroslers posts. He has informed us that if we let customizations run that his rom can not help us. I am about to give up. Just wondering how 'Steve' rom is going. I remember that he let customizations run. So is there any hope of running gps w/ Tom Tom and others apps on our phone which we paid for that is controlled by the fascist Verizon company. 'you say ya wanta revelution' we ell you know.
