Hi Leslie,

"Steve" ROM is slow but sure. With my daughter here over the holidays there was no time to do anything. I am still of the belief that a VZW ROM with customizations run can operate with 3rd party GPS. I have had iGo8 working and operating well.

My plan is to continue the development of my ROM. If you were to flash and let customizations run there is a funky way to get back, so I would say to you take a dip into the deep end of the pool. Only way to truely learn about all of this wonderfulness.

You would hardly know the difference from what you see on your xv6900 right now. A screen shot would look identical. Just a couple of things different and it is snappier. Its basically the same format, just tweaked and tuned a little better. Before you flash do you have in mind what you want? If you are wanting GPS for Garmin, Tom Tom or other 3rd party GPS software, BE SURE to follow instructions carefully for this type of flash. You DO NOT want CUSTOMIZATIONS to run if you want the aforementioned stuff. Some of us learned this the hard way. leslie

Are you saying that Google Maps, and Live Search are not 3rd Party? Because they run perfectly allowing customizations to run with Skywings Cab file as previously noted on a original VZW WM6 ROM. Heavy propietary stuff may be a different story, but I assume you really mean, only these 2 instances?

This WM 6.1 ROM has proven itself very stable to me over the last 2 weeks and the GPS has worked extremely well when putting the .dll files in the correct slots.

Yes, GMM and Live Search will run but Garmin, Tom Tom and others won't if customizations were allowed to run. Some are working around this but I couldn't on my xv6900. I am now getting help from scrosler at a different thread. He made me a custom fix that I will try tomorrow, gotta go to bed now. If you are interested in results let me know. leslie

Leslie, I take this somewhat offensively. My thread is not dead ends or spaghetti junctions. I successfully walked humpa through reverting his phone back to an unlocked phone after letting customizations run on the leaked ROM. He is now running my cooked stock ROM with Tom Tom very well.
I understand these device better than most contributing to the help of this problem right now. You choose to change your mind and not stick to your guns when you feel the tasking may be difficult. This is why you see spaghetti junctions.

Thank you

Steve you can easily get any app to run if you have let the customizations run on the leaked ROM.

First install Valhall GPS cab then install Franson's GPSgate. It allows you to create a simulated hardware port for TomTom and those type programs that need a hardware port to lock into. I have done this so I know for a fact it works.

If you need help I can try to help you get there. Where are you at now?
