Re: Verizon - Official WM 6.1 Update

I'm running official update - customizations ran. Vahalla works fine - though it did give me an error message at time of installation (error message was in error). Have had one occasion when inside/cloudy day that it couldn't find satelites.

Any help would be awesome...
Identical problem with me. Got a replacement xv6900 with 6.1 and Valhalla does not work on it. In fact now I can't even uninstall Valhalla. I hate to hard reset the phone and install everything again...that would be a pain. I think I'm just going to cancel data until VZ opens up the GPS to Google maps; right now data is not much use for me without the GPS function. VZ Nav at $10 a month isn't worth it for me as I don't travel that much.....

p.s. anyone know how to find the files and remove Valhalla GPS???

Re: Verizon - Official WM 6.1 Update

I am having trouble getting the Valhalla GPS fix to work with the official Verizon WM 6.1 update, with customizations. It occurs to me that I may have made an error by installing it to the storage card instead of the device.

Has anyone had any luck with it on the storage card? Also, for what it is worth, I am also unable to remove it even with the remove CAB. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Re: Verizon - Official WM 6.1 Update

Anyone have any idea why my GPS would just stop picking up satellites? Ive been using the GPS just fine for the past 2 months and now all of a sudden It doesn't work anymore. I noticed someone mention an issue with there alarms and I did just recently install G-Alarm and it said it had to fix my alarms due to a WM bug. Im not sure if this is exactly what caused the problem, but I'm looking for a way to get my GPS working again without haveing to hard rest. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Verizon - Official WM 6.1 Update

I came across this thread by a google search. So I many not have the same phone as you all.
I have the Xv6800 with the Valhalla GPS server.
My GPS hasn't been working for the past two days.
I have found in other forums that this is quite widespread for the last two days.
I'm picking up some faint chatter that the GPS goes through a server (at Verizon?) and that is now being blocked or down and not working.
It's called aGPS. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPS_Phone

I'm hoping to find more details as more people realize it's not their phone.

Re: Verizon - Official WM 6.1 Update

Same issue for me. GPS just went silent. I've always been able to use the GPS even without cell service. I hope Verizon hasn't disabled this feature. If they have, How about a class action lawsuit to swing their opinion of free gps enable cellphones?

aGPS works through Verizon's server using triangulation with the cell towers, but true GPS is based on the satellites in space. Phones with a GPS chip can get a lock (albeit sometimes slowly) using GPS only, using both aGPS and GPS phones can lock in seconds.

It seems the server is inoperable or VZW is changing things up. Hopefully the previous is the case. They suck.
