Verizon - Official WM 6.1 Update

I am having an issue coming from NFSFAN's 1.04 ROM. I flashed the ROM and then let the customizations work and then installed the GPS Hack but I still can't get GPS lock. I have done the *228 Option 1 and *228 Option 2 but still no luck.

Another happy flasher. I was running a custom ROM, with aGPS fix. Flashed the Verizon 6.1 ROM, letting customizations run, ran the Valhalla cab, and all is well, including rapid GPS locks on Google. Phone seems to be getting better reception, too.

After flashing the new Verizon 6.1 ROM, I was able to *228 option 1, but was unable to *228 option 2. Voicemail was also not working. I waited an hour, and tried the *228 option 2 again, and it worked. Voicemail also started working once I got the *228 option 2 to work. I did not have to re-auth with a verizon CSR.

All that's left is to get internet sharing back on...

Installed the VZW update and the Valhalla gps.cab.
It took about 10 minutes and now I have WM 6.1 ,
Rev A , and gps unlocked.
I have gone on google maps several times and I get
6 - 8 sat hits in 10-15 seconds.
The data is very fast now and the ROM is very stable,
no freezes or resets in the last 6 hours since I installed
the update and Valhalla gps .cab.

Same result here! Very happy!

I have one issue with my nav program. I have iGuidance and it never gets a lock. It finds 6 to 10 sats depending on where I am but the lat. & long. keep changing. It worked fine with the external unit I had. The auto config in the app finds the gps. I can run Google Maps at the same time and it locks in a few seconds. Work perfectly with iGuidance running or not. Very strange.

Make sure you are using the GPS Intermediate Driver. If you are using COM4, one app may lock the access to the GPS and other won't get the coordinates.

Sorry to be such a noob but i have a question on the advanced vzw official wm6.1 rom released this past week. i know it says the rom locked out the gps and there is a hack around it. i am asking if the phone has to be unlocked to flash the gps hack? thanks.

Is that what you mean by Intermediate Driver? If not what do I need?

A few months back I had tried an upgraded radio by... using the Vogue_unlocker_0[1].41.exe, then the Vogue_Radio_2_13_00.exe.

Everytime I tried flashing the WM6.1 update in the first post of this thread, It would keep failing at 44% with an error [262], I'd be stuck with the "colored bars" screen and would have to recover.

To get past this, I had to first use the Vogue_unlocker_MFG_2.31.exe package.

Then, the upgrade to this VZW WM6.1 rom completed successfully.

After upgrade...

Rom Version: 3.14.605.1
ROM Date: 10/03/08
Radio Version: 3.37.33

I haven't switched my service back to the VX6900, I have it connected to my laptop via ActiveSync.

When you launch PIE, it takes you to start.vzw.com and VZNav is an option to download/install.

Family is coming over soon, so I wont get to put this on my account and try it out until probably tomorrow
