Official Bell Mobility GPS/Sat Radio/Rev A. Update!

OMG! WOW! Bell has really done it with this ROM. I'm impressed. GPS locks fast with a great set of sats (evenly distributed over the sky as opposed to previous where all sats were around the southern horizon) and the UI is snappy. This morning was the first time EVER where I got a lock on 11 sats in IGO8.

Anythought? I am in oakville (just on the border of Mississauga).

I just drove around oakville for lunch with google maps up. GPS rocked, as soon as I walked out the door sat locks and all was well.

Now ... as I drove and google downloaded map parts it would go to EV and then to 1x. If it stayed on EV for a while I would get a 'this app need a data connection' error. I hit OK and then it switches to 1X.

1X also seems to initiate when I surf as well.

Anyone else see this? Fast GPS locks are great, but not at the expense of 1X data

I'm having the same issue. But to add to the mystery, i did some testing at lunch:

At Hwy 400 & Finch, my phone is switching to 1X whenever it needs a data connection. If it's on Ev and needs data, it attempts then switches to 1X.

Drove up to Hwy 400 & Rutherford (Vaughan Mills Mall), my phone switched to Ev and everything works as it should. Data connections stays at Ev and is nice and fast.

Prior to flashing the official Bell rom, I was on Sprint 3.42 radio and NFSFAN's rom with PPST updated. How about you?

Can people tell me how their flashing procedure went? I'm having 1X coverage problems and I'm wondering if the radio portion didn't flash correctly.

I was at the rainbow screen for a while, it changed a couple of times to "loading" then went directly from 0% to 12% without counting up. On other rom flashes it's always counted up sequencially.

GPS works great, don't have 1x issues, but the weather tab is still broken for my location. I was using NFFan's rom, and whatever is done with that one allowed me to put in the location string and it worked.

I was at 3.37 with NFSFAN 13.0

I read somewhere you we may need to have bell reprovision/reactivate our EVDO?

If your phone is unlocked, just flash back to the cooked rom you had before. I flashed back to DHarvey's rom and I get EV data and still get the amazing GPS locks.

I have a question, someone answer please.
Say if i go back to NFSFAN after i did the new BELL flash and later say i wanna go back to bell can i just reflash with the SHIPPED ROM?
