Re: Official Bell Mobility GPS/Sat Radio/Rev A. Update!
Yes! finally... just a general question Can i use this OFFICIAL ROM to upgrade to the radio and rev A, then apply any Custom ROMs ppl made here for the apps and tweaks they added?
I'd like several features that most CHEFS has added like: Battery 1% fix Better Keyboard USB2PC Tweak for faster processing in general...etc Or Can these be added separately without the need to flashing a whole ROM? Any links Thanks! |

Re: Official Bell Mobility GPS/Sat Radio/Rev A. Update!
Can someone follow these steps and see what bell has set the GPSOne options as? Also, if the gps doesn't work, maybe this can help.
QPST GPSOne Settings: 1. Connect your Vogue to your computer with the usb cable. This is also an excellent time to back up anything, just in case. 2. We need to put the phone in diagnostic mode. This is done by running dmrouter.exe, similar to epst.exe by dialing ##DIAG Send (##3424 Send) or ##DIAG# (##3424#) 3. Let windows install your new hardware. There will be two dialogs that come up. The first one should install after you click next. The next will require a file called qcmdmxp.sys and says it can't be found. As luck has it, your computer already has this file, and it's located here: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\. Simply tell the wizard to look there, and it will show the file, click on it, and the installation will finish. 4. Install QPST if you haven't already. 5. Run the Service Programming program under the QPST start menu. 6. Double click on the little globe at the bottom right of your screen. 7. Click on Add New Port, and add COM4 - USB/QC DIAGNOSTIC. (might be another COM for some people) 8. Close the QPST Configuration window, and go back to the QPST Service Programming window. 9. Click on your phone, which should now be there, and then click OK. 10. Click on Read From Phone and then enter your SPC and click OK. 11. Goto the gpsOne tab (you'll have to scroll to the right) and enter these details: Code:
Allowed = checked Assistanc-Spherical = checked PDE IP Address = 216.198.139.92 PDE Port Number = 8889 PDE Transport = IP Position Calculation = PDE (Thanks to Ghetto) Last edited by tobeychris; 08-07-2008 at 08:31 AM. |

Re: Official Bell Mobility GPS/Sat Radio/Rev A. Update!
hell ya... im glad i waited... i even invested into a bluetooth gps simply because bell didnt have GPS ROM like others... and messing up with other carriers ROM update wasnt a pill i could swallow... althout 99.9% seems to be donw successfully... the .1% was enough to deter me from doing so since i didnt have any insurance and paid for the phone!

Yeah I'll probably keep it coz its not worth selling it at half price since i bought the Pharos GPS adpater for almost the price of a standalone BLUETOOTH GPS !@!@!# I given up until last week the idea of BELL ever coming up with this new ROM... that's why i bought it and didnt want to mess with always living in fear of having to go back for warranty work and them telling me that i messed up the ROM!!! Now that its out, like you said itll be a nice feature to have wihtout having to log the other devices along... mind you ive always logged my 8 lbs laptop , the gps puck and a power inverter in my car ... just to be able to navigate and use free wifis when im out of town... |
