I'm pretty sure it doesn't relock. I've switched to it and switched back to customs many times.

The official rom has many programs you'll never use. Mostly Telus Nav. Ghetto's roms do not have the lag you experience with the official. My main reason is speed and response time.

Does anyone know if I'd be charged for using this GPS service in the U.S.? And if so, is there any way of using 'pure' GPS to avoid these charges?

my gps works great with radio off, you need a prog with non-net based maps like garmin and tomtom. just go into settings and turn off the phone radio

No, GPS uses satellites not cell data. That being said, the way we're setting this up (and the reason it gets such good locks) is because we enable the Assisted-GPS which uses the data to help locate you nearly instantly. In order to avoid data charges while in the states you should turn data off completely, the problem is that it takes forever to get a GPS signal without the data, if at all.

Summary:
No Data for 'pure' GPS.
No signal for 'pure' GPS

When I turn my phone off and launch TT, it tells me the phone is off and won't use the GPS....?

Anyone knows if this can be applied to BELL Touch instead of using SPRINT Official ROM that includes the REVA and Radio? Of course without running the customization just to be able to get the RevA and Radio?

So unlocking and using another rom and then reflashing back to the newly released Telus rom will not relock? Crap. Does that mean that if by some accident the phone gets bricked, the Telus rom is not likely to revive it (as happened with me trying the Alltel rom)? Thanks!
