First of all, big thanks to OMJ for all the hard work an all the imformative replies.
I just got the Verizon XV6900 and I thought I give a shot at flashing your full OMJ's WM6.1 Custom ROM. I think everything installed OK. Didn't have enough time to try to lock in the GPS for the first time. I read in your post that initial lock in takes long time.
After flashing to your ROM, I can not set the GPS harware port anymore.
I like to have an option to use the bluetooth GPS receiver if the lock in time takes too long or the built in GPS is not accurate enough.
Is there any solution to this ?

One more question; Am I suppose to run PPST.exe or is that for Sprint user
only. I skipped this process when I flashed your ROM.

Thanks OMJ, Excellent work. =D>
I built up the courage to finally try this. I must say it was relatively painless. I kept imagining what my story was going to be to Sprint to get my new Touch replaced. I installed the Full Custom with Java for Sprint and the only thing I have had to add since was S2U2. GPS is VERY quick on startup. Not extremely accurate. It keeps saying I'm at my neighbors house but I know even the car ones are only accurate to about 30 feet. I'm not sure when they came out with it but my phone had Radio 2.13 instead of 1.13 that everyone else seems to have. My speedtest numbers also went from 1130 download to 1450 download and 275 upload to 450 upload.
I don't know how good this is but I'm happy.
I have 2 battery icons on the top right of the screen. The original one witht he 4 bars and the new one with the percent # above it. Is there a way to remove the original one?

This after working great for a week or so...Advice, OMJ?

Sprint Touch
2.31 Cokeman
Radio 3.37.15
ROM OMJ Sprint Custom v3
Add'l apps:
Mologogo 2.0
GpsGate 2.6
SlingPlayer Mobile
TGPS
Resco PocketRadio
NetFront v3.5

is your carrier Sprint? you may want to try a hard reset, if that does not help, reflash the leaked rom & test.

Sounds like you may need a hard reset or reflash.

GPS may improve w/ the official release....keep in mind this is from a leaked "test" rom.

no, I advise not to run the sprint customization & PPST, unless your w/ Sprint.

those speeds are consistent w/ Rev A.....very nice. the battery in the far right corner is from QuickMenu, you can go into the QM options to adjust or turn off. the original battery can also be adjusted w/ regedits but I dont have them handy.....do a "Search this thread" it's been posted many times.

Verizon users---it seems to be an issue with flashing the radio, not new ROMs in general (needing to get an A-Key). Some have not needed to do this, but most have. Also, there were some posts out there that thought that changing phones online in a certain order may avoid you having to get an Akey (re-authenticate) the phone.

I'm not sure about saving the akey, but I think a new number has to be generated each time the phone loses its "authentication" ---- its unique to each time the phone is authenticated. I'm not sure about that, but when you call for an akey---it has to be generated, it isn't merely "looked up".

Hey omj, i am currently running your Bell custom rom. I tried to install the cab for kickstart and updated gps drivers and ran into some problem. after reading the thread stickied, i noticed that people who ran into the same problem as me are the ones that have a cooked rom with old drivers cooked into them. SO my 200 point question is did you cook the bell custom rom with old or new drivers?

Thanks in advance OMJ
PS: The bell custom rom i am running is the one you posted in the first post on the first day in case you updated them between the original upload and now

many thanks for this info.
you see I like the idea that I will have GPS on my verizon xv6900, but alot of people saying that verizon xv6900 it does not have the hardware, just sprint version have the WiFi + GPS but they disable it. for that it will nice to have it running with this custom ROM.
so, I'm really top confused about verizon xv6900 if it does has the GPS or NOT.

Edite:

That is HTC (Touch) VOGUE......
It is quite different.... Built in gps, 400mHz CPU, HDSA....

HTC TOUCH hasn't built-in GPS.....

SPRINT and VERIZON TOUCH have GPS and DO NOT have Wi-Fi. The GSM version also has WI-FI

Ok, say I install OMJ's custom rom. What happens when Sprint releases their official Rev. A update? What exactly will I need to do? Will I just update over OMJ's custom rom or would I have to downgrade back to the current official Sprint rom? From what I've been reading it doesn't seem wise to downgrade once you've updated.

Wait until OMJ releases his! :) With this, you have pretty much what they are going to release...
