These are my Custom versions of the new leaked Sprint ROM, however they are NOT based on the PPCkitchen. Thanks goes out to Halfdriven, JakDillard, Rstoyguy & PPCkitchen.org!


*Before flashing this rom....*

-unlock w/ ImCokeMan's v2.31 unlocker

-Flash the leaked rom .exe to upgrade your radio to 3.37.15 (skip post-flash Customization if you're non-Sprint)(If you are a Sprint user, let the Customization run, then once phone has booted, run \Windows\PPST.exe to upgrade your PRI)

I tried adding the latest java, but it causes Sprint Music not to work.......if you want the newest java & /or dont care about Sprint Music, you can use this version....

I have a verizon touch and have unlocked using Coke's .40 unlocker and flashed a 6.1 rom. I've read that i need to go back to my stock rom using the shipped exe file so i can unlock using the 2.31, but cannot find a shipped exe for verizon. Is it possible for me to install your new rom without this?

Mattgoody, personally I did not flash back to OEM and it did work just fine. It's more of a precaution. I am not sure there is a Verizon OEM ROM out unfortunately. Maybe someone can confirm that. But you should be able to do it without going back.

Trying it out your new ROM and I'll post my results!

In OMJ's FTP folder you can find the file Unlocker_vogue2.31.exe in his tools folder. Can't access the ftp at work, but it's there.

First install the 2.31 unlocker and then flash the alltel rom (don't let alltel customizations run). ONLY then you can flash this. I did not go back to any verizon rom after installing the .40 unlocker and a custom rom. Before doing anything, READ. Touch PaL wants to activate, says trila expired. I will just uninstall and reinstall the standard version.

the standard version & pro version use the same installer......just say ok to the msg, it will still work fine.

I used the GPS extensively yesterday via Google Maps, Live Search & GPS-Today......so I know it was working.

Does this rom include the Touch keyboard. From your description I assume it doesn't. Is there a cab that can install the touch keyboard?

i flashed when the gps first came out and it didnt work, so i have to go through the whole hour long process again to get the radio onto my touch be4 I can flash this too?

Device Information or during boot up process read the red lettering beside the letter R.

and is there a way i can put touchpal v2 on there, i hate v3 because my dictionary from v2 didnt carry over and i have to keep typing everything manually

Love the splash screen!

Mucking around with it now to make sure everything works, but it looks like another fine OMJ release!

edit: Phone screen kept popping up after every program I installed. I installed spb_phoneapp_fix.cab and that fixed it.

I also would like the orig. touch keypad... Also is their a way to get the orig. mms messaging that was on the verizon touch before on this rom?

No it doesn't have the touch keyboard, I haven't used the cab in quite awile, but I believe this is it....

Did you flash back to the old unlocker & radio (which is not recommended btw)? if you unlocked w/ 2.31, then flashed the Alltel official rom, you should be set.

you can also check the version @ settings\system\device information

I would assume so, but I dont know for sure.

sorry, that would require cooking a unique rom......you could try to install the v2 cab, I'm not sure if you'd have both versions or what.....but dont worry, consider this temporary....once the official kitchen is released, you'll be able to cook your own.

hmmm, I've got the reg edit in there to fix that keypad issue.....maybe somehow it changed.

Yes, after flashing when you install SpbPocketPlus (and some other programs), users will need to change this by adding the spb_phoneapp_fix.cab in their user customization sdconfig.txt file somewhere after pocketplus.

Can someone please tell me how to get MMS messaging back on my phone. I have the Verizon xv69000, i flased the verizon ROM but it's not their??

As soon as that Bell ROM is downloaded I am going to give it a whirl...

I am also running the 3.35 Titan Radio flash that JD & Mindfrost have so graciously provided... MUCH Better GPS functionality!

Let's see if the Titan radio and OMJ's ROM play nice together... =)

OhMyGod....NO GAMES??? :)

Nice rom so far. I can't beleive I hadn't found that GPS Today plug-in. Good rom so far, my only two requests are:
1: Empty games folder
2: your menu customizations

Those are just cosmetic, and can be easily fixed.

use HHC (HTC Home Customizer), then go to the weather tab, choose custom city, then add the one you want.

hmmm, well seeing as Sprint does not have MMS, I know I left it out, but I knew Verizon did & I thought I included it (ArcSoft MMS), check again...if I forgot it, I can re-cook.....let me know.

lol, sorry....I was more concerned w/ general testing......the menu customizations would require each OEM to be modified, I plan on it soon, I had it on my last rom but that was from my old kitchen.

I'm running a ROM that wasn't built for the Titan radio (Mustan's) and using it with the titan radio and works fine.

I'm pretty sure OMJ's will work fine with the Titan Radio.

which rom are you using? you have to change the database in HHC from default to custom, then hit "Enter New City".

I have something like that planned actually. Just a learning thing, but if my evil plan works I'll let ya have it and you can use it with your new kitchen. I'll let you know how it turns out. Inspired by touchpal, and customizable of course.

I see a thin colored strip on top of the screen. I tried re-aligning the screen, but that did not take it out. This strip appears on top the taskbar.
How can I get rid of this strip?

That's the battery meter, goto c:\windows\startup\ and delete the shorcut called VistaHde Battery Guage.

Firstly, how exactly do i connect to GPS sats? I have the GPS today running (run gps checked)
and im on Google maps i clicked *use gps* and now its seeking the satellites. but nothing found yet.

Secondly, how do i get turn by turn (kinda like a tom tom)?

Thirdly, Any other cool GPS apps?

BTW. OMJ i went from ur v8 6.1 , to this one and WOW you are quite possibly my fav cook. This ROM is so zippy even with the tons of stuff i installed!!! thanks for making this rom and also thanks for the help with my gps question...

Nope. Just got back from an appt and tried using it the entire time. No luck. I think I may try re-installing the gps driver I used last Friday on the alltel install to see if that makes a difference.
