What if I wanted to go back to Sprints official rom? Should I not go ahead and install a custom rom if that is the case?

Flashing takes about 25 minutes total. Be sure to sync your phone book to outlook and your messages with pimbackup so you can restore them. And the stock rom is always posted here as well somewhere. Custom rom's usually remove 'stock problems' and add programs that you can actually use. And OMJ's are usually close to stock, just better!

Went ahead and installed. Three questions. Does this have the latest version of Google Maps preloaded? Is it normal for there to be a thin rainbow colored line at the top on the screen? Should it still be saying 'Test' on the first screen you see when you power on your phone?

I don't know about the first question but the rainbow line is the vista battery guage that you can disable by deleting it go to Windows/ StartUp. It should say test since it isn't official but leaked you can download the normal stock boot. I think OMJ put a link to it in some of the earlier posts or search. Hope I helped.

I tried to install the cab for kickstart and updated gps drivers and ran into some problem. after reading the thread stickied, i noticed that people who ran into the same problem as me are the ones that have a cooked rom with old drivers cooked into them. SO my 200 point question is did you cook the bell custom rom with old or new drivers?

Thanks in advance OMJ
PS: The bell custom rom i am running is the one you posted in the first post on the first day in case you updated them between the original upload and now

not sure what you consider "updated" drivers.....the drivers in all my roms are the drivers from the leaked rom.

Ok, say I install OMJ's custom rom. What happens when Sprint releases their official Rev. A update? What exactly will I need to do? Will I just update over OMJ's custom rom or would I have to downgrade back to the current official Sprint rom? From what I've been reading it doesn't seem wise to downgrade once you've updated.

most likely the official rom will be very similar to the leaked rom.....I would be willing to bet the radio will be a 3.xx radio, possibly even 3.37.15. all you would have to do is run the official update, you will NOT need to downgrade to the 6.0 rom.

it is possible to downgrade & go back to the stock 6.0 rom, but it is advised not to, because the the radio is written to a different location on the rom, and will not be completely overwritten if you go back to 6.0.

1. it is either the latest or fairley recent.....google does like to update often.
2. yes, it's the VistaHide battery gauge
3. that's the stock bootsplash from the leaked rom, it did not replace it on v3....you can flash this ftp://up.ppcgeeks.com/Vogue/Users/OM...bootsplash.rar to overwrite....it will hard rest ya, but wont change the rom, just the bootsplash.

so far been very happy with the layout and programs in this rom. i wanted to be fairly stock and mess with one thing at a time. right now its the GPS.

-few questions to anyone who can help...

1. i'm using the verizon XV6900 and since flashing this rom i have lost the ability to text, pix, and send emails even through yahoo.. keeps saying error connecting to server.. is this an issue i have to call verizon with? btw i did do the *228 programming thing, no dice. although while doing it i recieved a few texts, but it didnt fix it for good...

2. while trying to figure out the text thing i realized my GPS today plugin was working and it damn near had my exact address! which was pretty freaking sweet... but now today i can't seem to find any satellites and its like the GPS went down or something.. seems like a common problem, just wondering what anyone else has done to make the GPS more reliable..

thanks to everyone involved in these custom roms, very helpful people here!!

Yes, VzW Touch (XV6900) has GPS....

For the MMS fix (pix messaging), find the Verizon MMS thread and follow the instructions exactly.

I cannot for the life of my get a GPS Satellite lock.

Here's what I did:

Unlocked with 2.31 unlocker
Flashed radio to 3.37.15
Flashed OMJ's Custom Alltel Rom
Set location on
Ran ppst

I got GPSViewer to see 8 satellites but it will not lock. Google maps just keeps saying seeking as well.

GPS port is set up 4 and I change gpsmode to 4 in the registry.

Does anyone have any reccomendations?

Hey Guys, have you had any problems getting the device to sync afterwords? I installed sprite backup, and some other minor programs, but now the computer just freezes on syncing. It connects, but it just continues to spin.

I've tried deleting the pairing, and resyncing... it finds the phone, sets the sync settings, but when it goes to sync contacts, it chokes.

I'm still on OMJ's 6.1 custom v3 rom and was wondering if I was just doing something wrong, or you knew of one program that would be interfering.

Any ideas? Should I reinstall the sync program on my PC?

*Edit* The sync problems started after I installed PPST.exe after I already had set up WM 6.1 I ran it out of order when OMJ had originally said to run it. I ran it after everything because I had forgotten. Could this be it? */edit*

*Edit part 2* Hard reset and it syncs now. One problem I noticed is that ##786# no longer works, it looks like it's bringing up EPST, but then the window automatically closes. Does anyone know why this happens? */edit2*
