Perhaps someone can help me out.

I went and installed the v3 version. So far this rom has been nothing but simply amazing!

I love every aspect of this rom but one thing has got me stumped.

It's TouchPal.

I prefer to use version 2 over version 3 like a few others but I can't for the live of me figure out how to get version 2 on here.

1. I've tried installing version 2 over version 3.
2. I've tried installing version 3 over the built in version then installing it, then going to version 2.
3. I've tried deleting version 3 manually then installing version 2.
4. I've even tried installing version 1 LOL!

My problems is that I can't get rid of the original to make way for the other versions.

1. Version 3 remains persistant.
2. Version says it installed but it did not overwrite the old version. Attempting to uninstall it says could not completely remove it. It asks if I want to remove the program from the uninstall list. Selecting even yes does not remove it from the list.
3. I can remove touchpal from the list but can't remove touchpal from windows. It's read only/rom
4. Same thing. Touchpal 3 stays in memory.

I notice also that any attempt to do any of these 1-4 choices results in a flaked phone. I can no longer access anything directly from the today screen. (contacts doesn't do anything, calendar farts out with some error about not enough memory) and any program that I open up from then on (even after soft reset) results in no keyboard input being available (keyboard icon shows but doesn't respond to bringing it up).

Touchpal in this rom is like norton on a xp pc. It's like digging roots so deep you can't get rid of it. LOL

Please if anyone has a build that does not have touchpal let me know.

This rom is amazing! I just don't want v3 touchpal.

Please note this may be an isolated problem due to me having had the dirty radio on my device :P if so then i'll just chill with a basic rom until I a true safe alternative arises then i'll jump ship.

I made a version of OMJ's V3 without v3 touchpal (FOR SPRINT ONLY) ..

no aebplus, arcsoft. devicelock, freecell, oem-games-hearts, oem-total commander,oem- yahoo,sprint navigation

added
s2u2, frogger, pocketcm, pocketsnake, tvguide

I had a bucketload of sats visible - 10 - 12 on the way to work. No Locks. 15 minute drive to work - No Locks. SSDD ... damn.

Your arent confusing CELL TOWER triangulation in google maps with sat locks are you?

I don't know if this is of any help however I experienced the 9 sats 0 sats 8 sats 0 sats 4 sats 0 sats situation. Sometimes it would lock on quickly other times it would float in limbo.

What I discovered was I would get a lock within 10 secs when my data session was active.

There is an option in gpstoday that says start data session when needed or something like that.

When I check that off. It would first connect to the internet then would download the information to determine the location of the phone. I guess this is the AGPS portion that is kicking in.

This may be the reason why some people are experiencing differences in the quality of the gps signal. It might be dependent on when your data session is currently on or not.

I'm sure it's a good one, unfortunately, Rapidshare sucks so badly that I can't get it. I've tried 3 times now waiting for the long countdown only to find that I can't figure out the worst captcha in the world.

you have to find the cats in the captcha letters and numbers and type those but its hard to discifier whats a cat and not. If you have another location i can upload it later.

One trick I learned is to look at the head of the animal, the cat has a bigger head than the others in their pictures. They also have happy hours in the evenings random times when you can download without the CAPTCHA system enabled. There is also a program called happy cat that will let you know when happy hour has started. Here is the link for that program http://rapidshare.com/files/111924128/HappyCat.msi. Just to let you know I haven't tried Happy Cat but I heard it works.

Well after losing my data connection from upgrading the rom, i did manage to have my xv6900 replaced.

I think i'm going to hold off upgrading until Verizon comes out with an official rom update.

Whenever that does happen, hopefully Verizon will not cripple the GPS to only work with VZNav. The odds of that happening are against us, but there will probably be an easier safer way of unlocking the GPS at that point.

just loaded the custom v3 rom, all seems good.. but im getting a delay using the Dpad..

Also if im texting someone and moving the dpad left or right to pick my spelling, the dpad acts weird.. it will open the start menu, freeze for like 3 seconds..

anyone having this same isssue..
