Re: How-To Get GPS/Rev A on Sprint Touch

I'd like to make fun of all the people out there who weren't quick enough to reset their phone before the customization and now don't have any internet on their phone. . . except Having been without data for around a month now, I feel your pain. So at long last here it is (at least for Sprint users): 1.) Flash back to a Sprint rom. (Maybe it will work with your provider as well.) This time I did let it run customizations. 2.) Go to Start/Settings/Phone/Services/Internet/Get Settings . . ./Client Initiated IOTA [or something like that] 3.) Check IE and see if you have the web. 4.) Flash back to the Altell rom. 5.) This time reset it after it asks for a password and before it runs the customizations. If you use the sprint rom I did you may find your phone will turn on once, but after that it locks off and all you have is a flashing green led. Just do a soft reset and pick up where you left off in the steps above. |

Re: How-To Get GPS/Rev A on Sprint Touch
I went here and got it from HTC.
http://www.htc.com/us/SupportDownloa...at=2&dl_id=115 works like a champ, and you dont have to install unlockers or any thing else. Now to check settings: Just save all your info via active sync or mobile device manager Then: - Go to Start > Settings > Personal > Phone > Services > Location Settings > Make sure its set to ON. - Start > Settings > System > GPS > GPS Program Port is 4, Hardware Port is None, Baud Rate is 4800, Access is set to automatically. I used google maps to verify GPS is working and all phone features work 100%. |

Re: How-To Get GPS/Rev A on Sprint Touch
Has anyone been successful at getting this to work on the verizon xv6900 version of the vogue? I followed the directions... but still no GPS. I wonder what I could have done wrong? Or is this a problem with the verizon version?
Thanks, Nate |

Re: How-To Get GPS/Rev A on Sprint Touch
Product: HTC Touch 6900 from Cellcom (NE Wisconsin provider)
I tried the orginal post directions I could not get the gps to work. No problems with the phone, just could not get the gps to work. I then loaded the newest Sprint ROM (from HTC website) and it would still not work. I then downloaded GPS Viewer and loaded it and followed directions from earlier post and it worked as I was able to pick up a good signal. YEA. I am keeping the Sprint ROM as I like the full Qwety keyboard and a couple of the other features. I had tried to load the Sprint ROM before and it would not let me as it stated invalid vendor ID. Running the unlocker, should allow you to use any ROM. |

Re: How-To Get GPS/Rev A on Sprint Touch
Hello,
Can you please tell me if there is anyway to get the internet back on my HTC touch. I feel like an idiot because you capitalized those instuctions. I wasn't sure when customizing would begin, but then it was too late. It customized and I had no internet just like you said. I tried repeating the all steps again but no luck. Thank you Dave |
