I tried your upgrade and found that the rom wacked my internet connection since I have Sprint and not Alltel. I now have to go to a sprint tech to reflash my software so I can gain internet access. I guess I'd rather have web than gps. I might suggest that you post a fix to this problem, an undo to the upgrade, in the future. I have a htc touch 6900 model that will only operate with sprint. I like the different colors and styles but I guess I'm going to stick with my earlier version.

Ummm 5) DO A SOFT RESET BEFORE THE CUSTOMIZATIONS RUN or you will not have an internet connection.

OK I have tried this twice and read all 38 pages. I install the first two programs, and soft reset before my 3 seconds were up. I then clicked 1 2 3 in order and received my 2 text messages about security changing. Soft reset and transfered my gps files to my phone through activesync. Opened file explorer and opened the gps file. Clicked setup and it took me to an IE screen with a bunch of crap on it. I then soft reset again. Now if I go to IE I get locating.... a minute or two later I get "The page cannot be found...yada yada yada. WTF. I thought this would be great and read the entire link before trying this. I know I have followed everything to the "T". I can send and receive texts so why doesn't IE work??? Anyone have anything to offer???? Thanks

can someone help me please I followed the instructions and got everything installed and everything on the device works but not as well as the factory rom my internet dropped from around 500k with the stock rom to around 70-130k and latency is BAD, I made the decision to upgrade so I am not blaming anyone I just need a hand restoring the radio and rom back to the factory settings I read the info on how to unbrick you phone but the rom wont install on my device it gets to 1% errors out and says invalid command any ideas

ok is it just me or does anyone elses phone now say altell? I know we installed an alltell cab/mod. All my info got erased and while setting up my email it says altell server, same with all my data connections. Did I do something wrong? How do I get rid of all the ugly blue altell crap? Oh, by the way gps works great and internet speed is blazing. Thanks OP.

I used google maps and went to menu and hit use gps. it took 5 or so minutes to find the satelites(in my house).

I vote this thread should be resticked renamed (For Stock Alltel ROM users [uncooked]) and Stickied.

The opening post in this thread is NOT covered in the current Sticky FAQ's and I think a lot of folks can use this information and are still using the procedure. Current FAQ stops after you flash ROM and does not explain how to unlock or install GPS DLL's.

It probably needs to be updated a bit. Or another section in "Complete FAQ" how to patch up a ROM for GPS (and perhaps explain KickStart vs no Kickstart).
