Unlockers for Custom Roms on Vogue 2.31(GPS) and 0.40(nonGPS)

I know I can unlock it, but will 3rd party apps like google maps tomtom and whatnot work still(I know that the maps and everything will bestored on the phone, I just don't know exactly about how the sat. talks with the phone... just wanna make sure verizon won't get me!!!)

Since you have a Verizon Touch you need to upgrade your radio by installing the Bell, Sprint or Alltel ROM but once you get to the part when you set up your device DO NOT let customizations run! It is complete hell to undo that mess.... So right when it says customizations will run in 3 seconds push the reset hole with your stylus! Then you can flash to any custom ROM you want

Google Maps and TomTom will not work since you do not have your data enabled.
Verizon has no way of finding out that you have a Custom ROM unless you bring the phone into them

So you will need to flash to the Alltel, Bell, or Sprint ROM to get the higher radio version.. Make sure you poke the reset whole before customizations run or you are really Effed.
Then flash to the ROM of your choice

So I think I may have screwed myself. I unlocked my Vogue a long time ago. I just flashed the newest official rom (for the GPS radio upgrade), and now it shows I have SPL-2.01.0000. I cannot get any custom roms to flash. Is there anything I can do?

Yeah thats the official SPL
You arent screwed at all ... Just use the 2.31 unlocker and your good to go!

Is there a minimum radio version recommended before flashing a rom from the latest kitchen? I'm unlocked (2.31) & running the vzw 3.37radio, gps working fine but my rom doesn't have internet sharing or anything that might help me get my tethering going. I'd like to start cooking again but I was curious if I needed to upgrade my radio first using the alltel rom or something else?

Its a good idea to upgrade your radio.
mines at 3.42.30
3.37 is the minimum actually because its a GPS radio so it will work fine but I would upgrade just to be safe

What do you mean about a downgrade? Is that from version 3.xx down to your 2.31? And where do you find that listed on the phone? Sorry for all the questions, but there are so many versions of the Touch and propietary companies that change things I want to make sure what I do will not brick the phone. Actually I'm only using it as a PDA right now and want to get all the Sprint stuff off so it will not look OEM.

A downgrade of what? There are ROM downgrades mainly and radio downgrades which you DO NOT want to do! Trust me.. It ends in an unbootable phone and I have had the pleasure of having that happen.

Hey I just got a new (old) Touch which was running WinMo 6.1. If I use the 2.31 unlocker, do I still need to flash with a Sprint ROM first and reset before customizations run or can I just flash with a custom ROM after unlocking? I think the person before me probably upgraded to 6.1 and let the WinMo customizations run.

You should be good
check your radio first just to be sure
if its over 3.37 your good
