OMJ,
I've been running your latest and for the most part, it is working fine. I just have the issue where the Talk and End hard buttons stop working... can't connect it to anything... Sometimes they will work fine for a day or two... then not. A soft reset fixes it. (EDIT: This is with 107.5 ver. 1 -- I'm flashing 107.5 ver. 2 now...)

Are you considering another version?

DJ

Hmmm.... was it not there on previous versions? I believe I am running v4.
I'm comparing my phone to my friends stock, and I cannot find it anywhere.

yes, all versions says 1.12.latti, maybe someone more experienced can explain, but I believe it's from the kitchen I'm using, but I don't know how to change (havent really looked into it).

Didn't know you re-cooked it. I will flash the newest one later tonight.

This issue may not exist in the latest version.
When I go to Contacts>Menu>Options and check "Show contact names only", the letters at the far right edge of the screen are duplicated.
Basically, there are 2 rows of A-Z on the rightside, one slightly overlapping the other.
I have no other software installed.
Anyone else see this?

yes, I see it too...hmm, not sure what would cause this....too minor for a new version though. I know it's related to HTC Random Access though.

I've seen people report problems w/ the talk/end buttons on various different roms (not just mine), but I have never had this issue.

new version? no current plans....basically my reason for building a rom is to included the programs & settings that I frequently use to be incorporated in the rom, so they don't have to be installed/adjusted after a hard reset (though I don't see the need to hard reset on the Touch, unlike the apache, where a hard reset was much more frequent). Plus, it's fun....I'm simply sharing my work.

I feel I have reached a point where I am satisfied, and see no reason to mess with it, though that could change at anytime, lol.

My next step may be to show others how to cook their own rom........if there's enough interest. It's really not that difficult, the hardest part is troubleshooting errors.

it wasn't something I used, so I don't know which versions it may have been in. I know I didn't specifically install it via OEM, so if it was in a previous version, it was already included in the OS....but I know it's in v5, I used a different (more stock) rom as my base for v5.

Re: OMJ WM6.1 Custom ROM

OMJ,
First, thanks for all your hard work. I flashed the 2nd 107 ver5 and it is really stable. What a difference a custom ROM makes!

I would be interested in learning how to tweak your latest version. I want to take out a few things and add a couple cabs I need for work. Which kitchen are you using? Would I start with your ROM and modify? or do I have to have all the components separate?

Also, have you done a comparison of page pools...? Say 32 vs 24 or 20? Some threads have talked about web pages stuttering at 32... I haven't seen that though.

I'm actually at the point now where I could use a bit of advice if you would be kind enough to share a bit of what you've learned.

I spent a good 20 hours this weekend going from no real knowledge of cooking a rom to having my own mostly working rom. It was a lot of trial and error, mostly error, until late Sunday when my first good build was done with the OEM's I wanted all loading. The process would have gone a bit faster if the ppcgeeks forums hadn't been down which forced me to use google cached pages to find a few bits of info.

Anyway, here's where I'm at now.

I'm using the vogue_kitchen_tools.rar which is DogGuy's kitchen modified for the Vogue. I ran prepit on no2chem's nuerom-v 107 clean rom to get my base build. Then I began collecting OEM's and created a couple of my own using OEMizer. After a couple rounds I got a workable rom.

That brings me to where I need some advice on how to proceed.

1. You said you're using a more stock rom that allows the ## codes to work. Can you be more specific and is it downloadable somewhere?

2. People talk about using various kitchen's but when I go looking for them I find they were built for the apache or titan. Do these all work for the vogue as well when you swap in no2chem's basekit or a prepit extracted set of folders base folders? This is part of the magic I don't fully understand yet.

Thanks

you're already ahead of the game! I am writing up a quick guide right now, but like I said, you're already past that point. I am using the same DogGuy kitchen. I think there is a few out there, but you got the right one.

you can run prepit on pretty much any already build rom, I was also using no2chems v107 clean rom on most of my versions, or you can run prepit on the stock sprint rom, then copy no2chems basekit into the kitchen replacing the OEM & SYS folders, then drop in your OEMs, run buildOS, then buildit.bat, then flash.

My v5 rom is based off this ROM, http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...&postcount=100 from dharvey. I was actually running this rom before cooking my own, and liked it alot. It's very close to stock, but has 6.1. just run prepit on it, drop in OEM's, run buildOS, then buildit.bat, then flash
