Re: Asurion replacing TP with TP2
7 - 10 days for a TP refurb? WTF? I went through advanced exchange and they sent me TP wihtin 2 days. I know the whole goal of this is to come out with a TP2, (I am more than happy with a TP1), but are they really taking this long just to get out refurb TP1's? What's the difference between calling Asurion and Advanced Exchange?

Re: Asurion replacing TP with TP2
You have to tell them you are on an Alltel version of the TP and that it has 288mb of RAM. none of the versions they are offering you have that much RAM. Asurion is offering you the Verizon version of the phone or a different model, both of which range from 192Mb-256Mb of RAM. Tell them that IS NOT a comparable device. Without that memory your device is useless, it won't perform the tasks you need. You demand a phone with 288Mb of RAM, like the Verizon Touch Pro 2. If you get the right manager they'll get you into a TP2. Stay the course, you'll get there.

Re: Asurion replacing TP with TP2
Just got off of the phone and I've got a TP2 on the way!
It took 2 tries for me. I called once and got a very nice rep. She told me that they were having a lot of problems with the TP1 lately and they were replacing it with another phone. I said great. She told me that they could offer me a Tour or a Treo Pro. I said I can't use a BB on my plan and I had a Treo before (I did) and the buttons are too small. She said we could do the snap but that's a downgrade (she said it!). Finally I asked about the TP2 and she told me that unfortunately they don't have refurbs for replacement yet because it's such a new phone. We were having a bad connection the entire time so I told her I'll go to the website and see what other phones are available and call back. I called back about 10 minutes later and told the new rep that I just spoke with a rep and they offered me a Tour and a Treo and they wouldn't work and that she told me that they were having problems with the TP1 so I wanted to know what's compareable. She asked to put me on hold for a few minutes and I said fine.... I knew what was coming at this point! She came back in about 30 seconds and told me that as a one time courtesy they could send me a BNIB TP2, is that okay? I don't really think I need to go any further. Oh, and Sprint is crediting my account for the deductable so I'm not paying anything! I emailed them about the problems with my TP and told them that I've had it replaced again and again and they told me to call Asurion and they would credit my account for the deductable. They know the TP1 has a lot of problems. Anyone having trouble getting a TP2 should just be patient and be nice and they will help you out. See you in the TP2 forums! |

Re: Asurion replacing TP with TP2
Thats right sorry, well...Its hard to say...I'd keep trying to get to the next manager and tell them "No I don't want the TP after all of the poor performance, I'll be worse off than I am now"

Re: Asurion replacing TP with TP2
I just called just now 9:45am PST and was told they have the TP1 and can send me that. I declined and said I would call back.
I'm just not having good luck with this. Last edited by aznmode; 10-23-2009 at 01:02 PM. |

Tell them you were told by a rep at the store that the keyboard is a common issue with the TP and that they told you to call asurion to get it replaced with a different phone that doesn't have the known defect. Patience and be calm and play stupid...Good luck |
