store offered me phone two weeks ago but it was out of stock.

a week later asked ecare to see if I could exchange it through them. they transfer me to account services. account services no help at all.

bunch of ****s.

if anyone had success in the los angeles area, could you please let me know where?

I have asurion with sprint. And I have the total equipment protection plan. I called them today and told them about a couple of problems I am having with the phone and they are sending me out a brand new touch pro 2. I should get it tomorrow or friday. This is my second touch pro but I am not sure if that has much to do with it. I will let you guys know when I get the phone. But I was send it free of charge without having to pay a deductable of any kind.

I'm assuming the phone that's having problems is from asurion?

I received my replacement TP today. This phone was ordered yesterday afternoon so the turnaround was excellent. Major kudos to Sprint for the quick turnaround. Unfortunately, that's where the good stuff ends....
The phone looked great, until I removed the cover to replace the battery. There were 2 screws missing, as well as two rubber insets (for lack of a better description). In addition the moisture detector was white, rather than pink and white, which is what I have normally seen on my other phones.
I called technical support to ask them to replace the phone and the person that I spoke with asked me to take the phone to a repair center, which I refused to do. I explained to her that I expected to receive a working replacement phone and I refuse to spend another hour of my time in a store because they sent me a phone that I don't feel comfortable with. In the end she agreed to allow me to return the phone that I had just received and I will work with my store to get another replacement. What a PITA :violent1:

@ auster, you should've taken it in to the repair center. when they tell you that, it usually leads to a tp2.

The repair center's been trying to get me a TP2 for over two weeks now, but the warehouse hasn't had any and the store hasn't received any stock since the release (see my earlier post a few pages back). I just called the repair center manager that I've been dealing with at the store and told him that I'm returning the TP that he ordered for me and I'll wait until the store, or the warehouse, gets TP2's in stock. He was ok with that.

interesting....when you're sent to the store, the store does the ordering. some folks are still getting one, so i would call *2 again. if it's in your notes, they should just order one and ship it to your house.

Which department do I speak to at *2 - everyone that I've spoken to has told me that they can only replace my TP with a TP and if I want a TP2 I have to speak to a store manager.

see, that's what i posted a few pages back! get it on record from *2, then go to SEVERAL repair centers. i just picked up a samsung moment for the mrs. and jacksonville, florida is still doing the exchanges. i guess some stores have reached the max on ordering them, some stores have not. KEEP TRYING!

There are only 3 corporate repair stores in my area and two of them insist that they cannot replace my TP with a TP2 (they've offered the other options on the the WEL list). The 3rd store is the only one that has agreed to give me a TP2, but they have been unable to order it. I guess I could try some of the 3rd party repair stores.
Has anyone had any luck getting a TP2 from a S. Florida store?

Thanks, but I think I've tried all of those things already, including calling local stores (even the ones that don't offer repair) to ask them to sell me a TP2 and none of them had any stock (even for me to buy). They all told me that I have to order either online or through telesales. Of course I wasn't going to buy one, but I just wanted to see whether I was getting BS from the repair stores when they said that they couldn't order them, but it appears that they were actually telling the truth - they couldn't even sell me one. I find that very strange, but that appears to be the case from my calling around.

well i went again to the store here in Louisville,Kentucky to get my tp fix the send me another tp. Got home with that one found out it cut off if i slind it close took it back no luck with getting a tp2 they dont even sell them there. In up getting another tp could i just call sprint to get them to get me into a tp2

Wow I'm a bit urked that alot of people just wanting an upgrade went out and got Sprint to give them a TouchPro 2. When there are some of us who have really been having issues with their phones and not just one. I'm on my 3rd phone and only been with them for a year now. I think Customer Service should've stepped it up and considered that. When I took my phone in the other day they tried to give me either a Treo, Snap or Blackberry. Which I feel are all downgrades from a TouchPro. In no way am I trying to SCAM them out of a phone but damn 3 phones in 1yr and I just got one yesterday and right before that got one toward the end of August.

I'm not a hater. But this is total:bs:!!! They also said well u can upgrade and sign another two year contract. Um no! Why would I do that? Infact why would I spend more money when its clearly and issue with the phones and I only been a customer for a year. If customer service sucks this bad, why would I even stay?! Seriously if I gotta buy a new phone from Sprint then I am soooo done with them. I'll go BACK to Tmobile and buy a tp2 from them. Or better yet an Iphone. I was on the phone with Sprint today from 11:27am- 2:40pm being bounced bk n forth. My longest wait being 50min. And still no resolution. Only for them to tell me they will call me tomorrow. Ugh the frustration!

I feel your pain I'm on my 8 tp in one year and picking up my 9th one tomorrow it sucks I just wont a phone that works and i will be happy. either a tp or tp2 :protest:

I'm on my 5th. After they couldn't order a TP2, I told them to just give me another TP. Everything else is truly a downgrade.

If its out-of-stock speak to a manager. I spoke to a tech and he told me it was OOS. A manager then came by and was able to order the TP2 and I will be receiving it tomorrow.

The store manager turned me down as well. Said he could get fired for ordering a level 5 NIB replacement.

hey i have recently been having issues with my touch pro, like the screen not responding right.... this is my second tp... I also have the asurion insurence. would my best bet to get a tp2 be to call asurion, sprint, or take it in to the nearby repair center?

I was able to get a supervisor in advanced technical support to order me a TP2 in replacement for my 5th TP. This was after talking to about 15-20 sprint reps on the phone at various levels in various different departments, going to two corporate repair stores, and one ASC. The ASC I went to was in Chula Vista, CA (just south of San Diego), where they had told me the TP2 was on their list of valid replacements for the TP, but their system wouldn't let them go through with the order. From what the in-store rep told me, they had had quite a few people come in with TPs with problems like mine and had tried numerous times to order the TP2 for them, but the system just wouldn't let them - it always said the phone was OOS.

When I finally had gotten to the advanced tech support rep that was able to help me, I had spent about 2 to 2.5hr on the phone in a row. Before I was offered the free TP2, I got to what they called the "escalation department" (a transfer from advanced tech support) where had offered me $150 off. They said that's the best anyone would be able to offer. My next call to advanced tech support ended in the free TP2.

I now have my order number, and have confirmed over the phone and online that the order is, indeed, for a TP2, and should be here Friday or Monday (depending on if it's the 2 or 3 of "2-3 business days")

It's definitely hit or miss. I've spoken with 2 supervisors from ATS and they both put notes on my account that I could get a TP2, but that I'd have to get it from the store and it was at the manager's discretion. They even had a rep call the store while I was there and the manager just said that he didn't have any in stock and wasn't able to order one and he offered me other phones on the WEL list, which I declined. I ended up getting them to order me a replacement TP, which I'm returning today due to the reasons mentioned previously. I really find it hard to believe that some stores are able to order it and others can't.

I spoke to 2 Supervisors in ATS and both said thre was nothing they can do for me. For some reason they connected me to a Supervisor in Telesales. IDK why, cuz I'm not going to BUY another phone. N that person said he would give me a call bk today at 9:30am. Um its like 9:50 now. I'm really irritated!! Im reading this post tho and I didnt know there was a Escalation Dept.

Who should I call and ask to speak to?? And how do I find a Corporate Store??

i was at sprint Yesterday... the TP2 isnt in the WEL list anymore... its a regular TP(which they dont make anymore) or a BB, or the Snap i think... if youlll accept something without winMO, you may have better luck...

you guys need to buy what u want a;ready instead of complaining on the web about a phone u ddnt pay for

Omg! Waiting on a call with CS and the damn phone freezes! After goin bk n forth! So i go into the store and they offer me a Pre. I said I consider it. SO I come bk home and Sprint connects me to a Supervisor and he doesnt eve offer the Pre he says the snap, Treo or Blackberry?! R they serious?!! This is nuts now! He tells me well I cant offer you anything else.

So im like u want me to step down?? Obviosuly youcant do a damn thing for me!! Next!!

From what I can gather reading the last few pages of this thread is that the TP2 is most likely been temporarily removed from the WEL list because it is OOS. I have a feeling they don't want to rack up a huge backlog that can never be filled, and now they're just waiting on HTC to manufacture more TP2's. I personally have not tried to get mine replaced yet, but I do have some of the common issues - I'm just dealing with them for now. For all those that are getting frustrated with Sprint, just be patient. I don't think they anticipated this much activity (even though they already admitted the TP1 is the most problematic phone they've ever had). Really, when you think about it, this is all HTC's fault... they made a crappy phone for Sprint, and now they can't keep up with demand for its replacement. Several posts here say it will be OOS until after Christmas. If your phone works, I say just be patient. If it doesn't, go ahead and get another TP (even if it is your 100th replacement or whatever) and just be patient. Once HTC catches up with the backlog, I'm sure it will show up on the WEL list again.

well put! i hope folks read this or post #1451 or #1455 instead of coming to the end and asking the same ol'. just like the tp when it 1st came out, the tp2 has run out for right now. but they will be back!

Hey folks. I'm not willing to read through all these pages but I just wanted to say that I had talked to Sprint on Tuesday regarding my keyboard locking up (on my 3rd TP for this problem) and just received yet another TP in the mail. So I personally did not get the free upgrade.

Why would you want to do that? As far as I can tell Sprint is trying to do the right thing by allowing people to upgrade their phone for free. The fact that they ran out of replacement phones and only have a few left that they would like to keep for new customers is acceptable. i cant beleive people still dont get it, i posted my experience in post 1359 and after that it has been confirmed over and over again. Seems like the only ways to get your TP replaced for TP2 are:
1) Know someone in Sprint(no brainer there)

2) Be extremely lucky/offer sex:)

3) Follow these 3 Simple rules:
a) Do not ask for it!
b) Do not ask for it!!
c) If its your first night on ppcgeeks you have to flash!(ignore my insanity)

Just ask to have your TP(1) fixed and eventually you will be offered TP2(read my post 1359),

Maybe before bashing other people you should read my initial post(1359) first and you will see where your mistake was. I also was shown that screen with TP2 as OOS for replacement but refused getting another TP(mostly because i had invisible shield on mine(cannot reapply once take it off) but also because my TP was new and first replacement that was offered to me was for refurb.). After all that i still got TP2 despite the screen showing them being OOS still(saw it again the day i picked up my TP2). Repair managers(and i suppose sales managers) have a way to order you a nib TP2 through a different channel for a swap(and no i didnt have friends in Sprint(when was going in first now i do:)) or had to renew my contract(which i wouldnt mind since i am on SERO(with bunch of perks) and only since march of this year) and even got quite an expensive present(read 1359). So dont tell me it cannot be done(thats what they said about color TV's) when i and quite a few other people in this forum did it. Insist on repair for your TP(try different stores as well if repair is denied) and do not settle for any other phone from WEL list and you'l see, might take a while(sure did for me) but then again some people it only took 1 visit

I think the point is we purchased a phone and when it does not work it seems most of us are getting the run around that truly are having TP issues.. It gets frustrating when you pay for a high priced phone pay for the protection plan, insurance and truly have issues and they want to give you another device that has the same issues or even worse get one that is even worse off than the original TP you purchased. If you can get them to offer you another device it is a downgrade and they say this is comparable or like model when you are paying more for a phone at the discounted price (TP) then the model you are being offered is at retail price. I too am very dissatisfied. Sprint needs to step up and do what is right for all its TP customers that are having issues with their phone instead of trying to get you to take a model that they themselves no is not a “like” model. The no there is a problem with this phone. I have spoke with several agents trying to just get a TP that works and everyone of them are giving me different information other then No we can only replace it for the same model or a BBY or SNAP if I wanted a BBY that’s what I would have purchased… If they were not able to order this phone then we wouldn’t be reading this everyday and getting more and more mad at the fact that there are people getting the TP replaced with the TP2 so why is it that we would have to go through such BS to get a phone that actually works??? Sprint Please just step up and do what is right for your customers!!!! After all without customers you wouldn’t be around at all.
