took my phone to sprint today for the phone getting ridiculously hot, battery not lasting through a work day (have the phone backlight set all the way down and on silent), the phone locking up while its charging while i sleep and the phone backlight not turning off when the screen is off. guess what they did for two hours.... changed the battery and said it does all of those things because i dont clear my call history and text messages](*,)........is it just me or does that song like some b.s....

THAT IS BS, i was told my problems were because of S2U2 so I removed that, same problem, then I was told to click/undefault the option that left programs running inthe background (why I stuck with this phone over iphone), same problem, then I was told they cant reproduce the problem.

Then I call today to the store I was on a waiting list for and am told that they can swap for BB, Snap, or Intrepid, oops, not intrepid, and additionally that the TP2 is not an option and never will be. So F them. Ah well I guess *2 again, hell I dont know this is frustrating. Running out of stores, patience and good nature.

While I HOPE, read, H O P E the TP2 doesnt exhibit the problems of the TP, when I can I am switching to Android.

OK so ive pretty much read the major points of this thread and had done most of them out of common sense but it seems like the common advantage that the people who have succeeded have over me is the fact that they have MULTIPLE repair stores and i have just one...yes one. i have a sprint store which does no repairs/replacements at all, and a service center. i also have a slew of 3rd party comtronics but they all claim that they can do nothing. so ive talked to the guy at my repair store in jackson MI and he has been nice and replaced my tp 5 times 3 in the last 3 months! however when i told him i heard it through the sprint store that i could get an alternate (never said tp2) phone as a replacement he promptly pulled me a list. after reading me the snap and all those black berries i said "idk i really like the full physical qwerty keyboard and the tf3d" and then he mentioned the tp2 but said it is not available as an option "why not" i ask, excited at the opening. apparently it was back ordered for over 3 weeks and so i wasnt allowed to receive one....so with no other place to go i am getting yet another tp. any recommendations/#s i should try?

See, that's exactly what I'm talking about! If you would have read about 10-15 pages back you would have saw what I did! You said Jackson MI......and if by MI you mean Michigan than your best bet is the Northville store, which is where I FINALLY got mine from and referred the idea to someone else who lives in MI & they got one too! I really don't know how far Jackson is from Northville but if you can sacrifice some gas for a TP2 (I had to drive over 35 miles to get to Northville) I think that would be worth it!

The techs there didn't even try to fix my phone, they just came back out 5 minutes later saying they could order me a different phone including the TP2!

Best bet, do a mapquest, find out what you gotta do so you can make plans if you have to go to work at a certain time & make your way to the Northville store (there's only 1 in MI)! The phone should be there the next day to top it off (I went in on a Friday, got mines on a Monday)!

Update: I picked up my NIB touch pro 2 today. I was still on my first TP1 but with multiple repair attempts. So =D>! So far none of the freezing that the TP1 had, feels much sturdier. Loving it so far.

And be persistent. I went to 6 stores, and the one that ordered the TP2 is an hour away from me.

I am going to Toledo next, I live in between Toledo and Fort Wayne and both are an hour away. Those are the closest service centers. Neither city has a TP2 in stock as they both say the TP2 isn't in our market yet.

There is a feces load of repair centers in Michigan but there is only 1 repair center in Northville Michigan.....there maybe more sprint stores in Northville Michigan but according to the sprint locator there's only 1 repair store in Northville...................only 1 penny..........only 1! :laughing3:

I tried the Airport Highway store. They originally offered me the TP2 but could not order it. This was like 10 days ago. On TP1 #4

Hey has anyone ever been charged for not sending a phone back? because I changed phones during a move and just now found it but it wasnt reported stolen or lost it was damage and they replaced it AE. its been over 15 days and no charge on my bill yet. =0

I was sent a Mogul ages ago and never returned the old one and was charged. It took a while for the charge to hit my account but it did get there. I called and told them I was out of town and needed an extension to send the phone back. You better take some action though if you want to avoid a charge.

I just went to the store in Metairie because my keyboard went out again. They still have my phone, but last time (About a month ago) they offered me a bunch of phones except the TP2, which they said wasn't on the list. I told them I didn't want any of those so they ordered me another TP. I am expecting the same when I go pick up my phone in an hour if they cant fix it again. This will be my 5th TP.

I recently went to a sprint repair center and tried to replace my Tp... My TP has keyboard and internet issues... They tried to replace it with the tp2 but were unsuccessful because the TP2 is on back order... They told me to try in 2 weeks... I guess i have to be w/o internet or keyboard for 2 weeks...

I just don't want to lie to get a device that works, if this TP works that would be awesome but am not confident about that.

I switched avatars about a month ago. He is 20lb. 6 oz and 2'4". My wife calls it growth progress, I call them stats. lol

I have no repair centers to my knowledge... I wonder if they would either order me a new TP 2 or replacement with another phone because of the glass sticking up a smidge... catches my finger every once in a while :P

Went in to my local Sprint store today, told them about my issues with the phone locking up over night requiring me to physically take out the battery and put it back in, about how that causes alarms to not go off, making me late to work, ect.

Now, I've never gotten a replacement Touch Pro, or taken it in for any service. I bought this TP on ebay about 6 months ago. I do have equipment protection (Insurance).

The rep immediately told me that since the Touch Pro has had so much trouble Sprint is allowing an even trade for a Treo Pro, Blackberry Tour or a Touch Pro 2!! He ordered me a TP2, it'll be here tomorrow or Thursday!

I love Sprint, and my Sero plan! :cheers:

when you guys bring your phone in, do you guys put the stock roms back on? Is an issue if you're running juicy rom and you're complaining something doesn't work?

I might go in tomorrow and see what I can get. Besides the slightly raised glass (from a repair in florida earlier this year) to battery running low very quickly, and the loose feeling of the phone, I should be able to get some kind of replacement.

just got off hold for about 45 minutes with a higherup and she,very *****y,told me that they have strict orders from corporate to not replace with anything but the palm pro,tour,curve,cheesy htc and thats it.
im like,so your content with my being very uphappy,and she said that shes following orders.

I find it interesting that people are able to get a TP2 ordered. I had a receptive tech who's been trying to order me a TP2 for over 2 weeks now, with no luck. I spoke with 2 level 2 tech support supervisors who said that the store manager should be able to order me a TP2 or give me one from their stock and they put some notes onto my account to that effect.
Well, I drove to the store with lots of hope, but the manager was unable to help me, since they have NEVER had TP2 in stock and have been unable to order it, even to sell. I thought that was BS, but since they appeared to be helpful and I really have problems with my phone I asked them to order me another TP, rather than the other options on the WEL list.
When I got home I called a few stores around town and they all told me that they don't have any in stock to sell (I didn't mention anything about an exchange) and that the only way that I can get it is to order online or through telesales. I live in a a major city with multiple stores and none of the ones that I called have ever had the TP2 in stock and are unable to sell them. What's up with that? Hopefully my replacement TP will work and I won't have to deal with this again.

i went in yesterday to get my phone repaired at a 3rd party store and the guy didnt even bother looking at the phone and told me I have 4 options to chose from (htc snap, 2 different blackberrys, and another touch pro)
i told him to go ahead and order me another touch pro because im not going to downgrade just to get a phone that works.

today i got my 4th refurbished touch pro in a month and i asked the guy swapping my phone out what my options were if this 4th touch pro didnt work right. he basically said the same thing the guy yesterday told me and also said that the touch pro 2 is also an option if there are any in stock, the store didnt have any in stock and he said that he would order one but not even sprint has any in stock and that the system would not even let him order any if there werent any in stock.

this 4th replacement seems like its working for now, we'll see how it goes.
next time i'll call the store before i go in and ask if they have any TP2s in stock.

it's weird but it can be done. my tech said "i ordered you a tp2" and it came next day. some say it can't be ordered. i would keep trying.

It is really just a crap shoot it seems now. I know people who have gone to the same store that ordered TP2's for other customers and were turned down. Some people's situations have better luck to getting a switch than others. I was on my first touch pro, yet managed to get a NIB TP2 sent out.

All you can do is try different stores and reps, get detailed notes on your account if possible, and be polite. That will not guarantee you get a TP2 but is the rubric you should follow to greatly increase your chance. Yes they are out of stock, but there must be a reserve stock somewhere because people have been getting orders in for weeks even while the OOS is still the majority consensus.

Just an update on my case in NYC... a few weeks back my "friendly" tech guy at the store was happy to order me a TP2 and told me it would get there in 3-4 days or sooner. Well, as of today, still waiting... with no estimate on when and if the phone will ever get here. And their attitude towards me changed drastically, they can't wait to get rid of me whenever I check with them at the store... they mentioned that multiple people approached them with my same request in the past few weeks, and that I was lucky that I could put an order on the phone because they don't do that any longer. Plus, they said they have no idea when my order will be filled as the TP2 is on backorder with no estimated availability date. :(
Anyone successful lately in actually getting the phone in NYC?

I got my replacement TP yesterday, the buttons are raised and when it is closed it is nowhere near straight. I called the Store Manager that had been helping me and he told me that when he gets a TP2 in he will swap it out. He was one of the guys that told me I should have Sprint send me a TP2 instead of a TP, but that didn't happen. I would like to think he is being sincere since he knows that this is my 6th replacement and 3rd in about 5 weeks. I would like to think so since he gave me a phone to use since my last one was inoperable. I have to make the hour drive back to the store to drop it of to him.

The guy there said that if my phone stopped working every week I would have to go to the store every week. When I said that it took me an hour to get to the store from where I live he basically said that I was lying. He said that there was absolutely no option of switching to a different phone and that I shouldn't really be complaining because they have been repairing my phone. He said that Sprint was the next best thing after sliced bread because they at least have repair centers. Worst service I have ever recieved.

Anyway, the guy at CS gave me a list of options: 2 Blackberry phones, HTC Snap, another TP and Palm Treo Pro. There was no mention of the TP2. I wonder if this is because the TP2 is OOS.

Same deal here. Offered Crackberries, Windows Std phones, and TP. For the TP, they had to get a supervisor waiver. You'd think that they would start to replace these things with Moments once they have some refurb stock.

I don't see how that's bad service at all?? I mean it was pretty A-hole of him to call you a liar about the drive but I don't see an issue as long as they are willing to keep repairing it. He will eventually get tired of it, my repair center just charged me 120 dollars when my keyboard was shot and said I had "water damage" so it couldn't be repaired. I'd take your service center any day. My center is lazy as http://aaronblomberg.com/blog/wp-con...08/03/poop.gif. Hell even I could have replaced the keyboard (I know how)

The worst part is this happened like a week before the TP ---> TP2 movement began
