Sorry guys but I got another success story!

Just came from a sprint store (I live in Michigan & I had to go to a store more than 30 miles away from my house) and just realized from this whole experience that IT IS dependent on what store you go to! Some might have been lucky enough to live right by a store that will do it but all the stores within a 20 mile radius of my house didn't work, one almost did when I called sprint and went to the store with notes on my account! The lady said "we have to order you a new one" (she was talking about the TP2) but the tech fixed the damn thing!

Well, short story even more short, I went to about 16 different sprint stores including corporate stores, repair only stores and 3rd party stores with no luck!

Went to this store in Northville that is 36 miles away according to my Telenav that guided me in the right direction if you know what I mean.

Went in about my keyboard, he gave it to the tech, 5 minutes later he came out with my phone saying he had to order me a replacement.

Funny thing is that the TP2 was the first choice that came out his mouth!

Asked if I could see the TP2 & he got one from the back.........all I can say is DAMN DAMN DAMN! Told me if not Monday the latest would be Wednesday!

Don't know if it will be NIB......don't care either!

All I can say for those who are still trying, OOS (Out Of Stock) is I3.$. because they have to order them anyway, so even if they don't have them in the store they can still order them, which leads me to believe mines will be NIB! Also, go to every sprint store you can because it REALLY DOES DEPEND ON WHAT STORE YOU GO TO AS WELL AS YOUR SITUATION AS Dr.8820 STATED EARLIER!

In short, anyone demanding a loaner under the terms of the standard plans is asking for something they are not entitled to have. Now, you can argue that they should never have agreed to those terms, but they did.

Why should a company offer services for free that were never promised or even implied?

I did not have to change my plan and would raise hell if I did. I am still on SERO and do not want to give that up for anything!

Well, we are going to have to agree to disagree. It will be left at that.:sleepy2:

It doesn't matter anyway cause I just drove to a different shop and spoke with a district mgr and was informed about many of things that should have happened that didn't. Its all good. I have now a months service credit, new monthly discount, and the feeling that somebody actually cares representing sprint. We'll see though.

Earlier today went to get TP repaired once again...I know, I know...at a corp store. Asked if I liked my TP, my reply,"Not exactly..." Her reply "Want a TP2 cuz Sprint is phasing out TP and it can be here on Monday if you can wait..." Easy as that, which seems a heck of a lot easier than what most have gone through that I have read...a few of my friends with TP went to same store today and same results for them. Good luck to all still trying!

don't go that route soldier. best thing to do is call cs (*2) or go to a repair center. good luck but it really helps if you've had multiple replacements. BUT BE NICE ABOUT IT! and don't tell them you saw this thread or that thread on a website or i know people who got a tp2 for thier tp!

Did you by chance go to the one in Dearborn? If so, how was your experience?

Chaulk me up as one who went in to get a replacement Touch Pro and they offered the TP2 instead. Really I was just happy to get a replacement TP but the guy said they were told to replace the phone with a BB or Treo Pro or Tpro 2.. the nice person actually offered me the TPro2 right off the bat. in any case, I got mine replaced at a service center store. Thanks for all those that helped with making my TP a fun phone.. see ya guys in the TP2 forum.

Dude, that was probably the WORST store I went to (went to the one on Michigan Ave & Outer Dr.), they didn't even offer me a replacement model, just said "yeah, we're just gonna have to order you another one!"

Than I took the phone back because I got the replacement and the speaker wasn't working and people said they couldn't hear me when I talk into the phone! He gave it back saying he didn't see anything wrong with it! WTF So I showed him, he took it & gave it back like....literally.....2 seconds later saying it was fixed but it wasn't! :cussing:

Your best bet is to go to the Northville store, it was instant and I was only in the store for about 10 minutes!
Didn't have to say anything, he just offered it!

Mine will be here Tuesday!!

I called Sprint explaining to them that I was on my 4th TP and the mic didn't work on it. The other 3 before this one had spots showing up on the screen prob a month after getting it. I took #3 back to the repair center and explained to them my "pain and suffering" for going through this with the phone. She offered me the usual 3 replacements as to which I just said "bottom line I need a slide out keyboard because I pocket dial and it has to have Windows." The only phone that was left was the TP2. Needless to say, she didn't budge and ordered #4 anyway. I picked up that phone yesterday and before I could even get out of the store, I placed a call and found out the mic didn't work on it. So I called the store (while I was still in it) and while they are on the line saying "Thank you for calling Sprint, this is _____ how can I help you? Hello? Hello?" Im standing there LITERALLY telling the tech that the phone doesn't work, they hang up, I call back. This process repeats itself for about 2 minutes before they realize that Im standing there looking at them and responding to them, even though they couldn't hear me. The funny part is, the same guy that activated #4 also picked up the phone, and he asked me "so whats wrong with your TP?" Oh nothing, I was practicing my mime technique using Sprint's Now Network...(here's your sign...) They still wouldn't upgrade me, even though the phone was dead in the water before I left the store!! I called CS and the first lady sent me to Asurion and thats $100 and they send you the same model. So I hung up on them. I called back and got a guy that was able to make some stuff happen. Come to find out, if you have been dealing with Sprint vs Asurion for your replacements, Asurion will not budge. Asurion pushed back on Sprint saying that I haven't had at least 4 replacements through them. Well thats $400!! I could have just bought a new TP2 at that point!! So the CS rep went to his supervisor and now they are ordering me a BNIB TP2. The only drawback to it was since my contract is up in 6 months, I have to extend it for another 6 months. Thats fine, I planned on staying with Sprint anyway.

I tend to agree, I LOATHE that store, employees are rude and I even filed a complaint with Sprint for how rude they were.
"Can you please move along? I have other customers to assist," is what one of the employees said to me.

Anywho, off my tangent, but thanks. I'll try that out soon, my Touch Pro is crapping out on me.

I was offered an exchange but for either the blackberry curve, tour, htc snap, smasung intrepid.. They are offering phones that dont have slide out keyboards! ( tp2)
Can I still get the TP2? From a sprint store?

Just a quick update on some interesting info. I finally managed to change to TP2 after 3 weeks of going to different stores, eventually i befriended one of the managers and he told me(when i was picking up the TP2) that sprint will most likely put the new HTC Spartan(HD2/Leo) thats coming for new years on that WEL list and allow it to be exchanged for malfunctioning TP. Although i love TP2 i wish i waited to see if that was true

Last week my LCD backlight went screwy. They fixed it.

Today my Keyboard died. They told me last time it had to be three of the same problems to warrant a different phone given to you. This will be my third keyboard replacement (that I remember) so I have some leverage, right??

Agreed, that was not the best way to go about it. Letting them know that you have seen the WEL list and that websites are talking about this is the worst thing you could do. Ofcourse Sprint will deny till they die that the list that leaked is not official and neither is the policy.

People need to stop printing and/or telling reps about the WEL list. All you can do is take it into a repair center, if they do not offer you a list of replacements then move on to another store. Alerting them you are aware of the list is just going to upset them and most likely turn you down.

i had more typed but changed it. over a 1000 replies means all one has to do is read and search. i even posted that echat was the wrong way to go. i don't get some people!

doesnt matter they already knew about the leak a day or two after it happened because people came in with the screenshot. That is why most will probably want you to go into a store so they can verify there is an issue with the unit.

Of course they can deny it, it was an internal memo. It would be different if it was sent to TP owners. I think they changed it a little once they found out the memo had been leaked. That memo was for ASC as well. The corp memo could have been different too.

Again, they are only replacing the unit with a TP2 if it is available on the list. If it is OOS then they can not offer you that.

the leaked memo is one thing, but telling them about the websites? that's just crazy. this is probably why some folks are having a hard time getting the exchange. instead of telling THIER story, they say silly stuff like "well, you did it for so and so".

Yeah, but they should have known about these sites long ago. It isnt like these have just gotten here. If their employees know about these sites then I am sure they do. And I know they know about HoFo and this site because I discussed the leak with a DM when my employee was trying to get his TP replaced.

Very true, explain your situation and how you have had trouble. They dont care if your buddy heard they were replacing them because of "known defects". If you have a legit issue and they see it then good business would be to get you back up and running and happy

Exactly. Letting them know that you read it online will give them the impression you are just trying to scam them or get a free phone regardless of if you have real issues or not. It is just setting you and others up for failure.

For all we know, Sprint may come check out this thread and read all the people talking about different ways to mess up your phone or the excuses to use just to get the TP2 then remove it from the list completely.

Sprint may know that the list is leaked, but they probably did not know there was a community of people telling store locations to get a TP2, when it is in stock, and ways to defect a working TP just to get it.

hopefully, everyone else reading this thread won't do anything dumb like telling sprint where they saw something. what's next, calling microsoft because a custom rom didn't work?

It's not like Sprint doesn't know about these sites. Was just trying to confirm the validity of what was posted. Was pretty sure they were going to respond exactly the way they did and so did everyone on here.

it's just a matter of reading and searching. i read this entire thread and then i tried it. i didn't go into a sprint store and then pull up this site to show that others was doing it. that's how things get shut down or stopped completely. if this was for the general public, sprint would've put an ad in the paper. please, for future references, leave the site out!

I received my refurbished TP last Wed, and have had nothing but problems. Freezing, keyboard not working, not charging, and an unannounced hard reboot. A total of 5 hard reboots in 10 days.

After multiple discussions and emails with a dan@sprint rep, 4 calls to customer service, 2 discussions with customer service supervisors, and calls to 4 different stores, I have finally been ordered a TP2 as a replacement, and am waiting for the phone call to pick it up! Every step of the way I was given a different story. No two people I talked to gave me the same information.

There is no magic phrase or combination of problems. There is no set number of replacements needed. The only advice I can give you all is be honest (stop trying to scam the system), be calm and polite (yelling and getting rude will not get you anywhere), play dumb (they know what they can do, they have to WANT to do it for you), and be patient (try try again).

there's only 2 stores that are local to me. and one store fixed my keyboard but i can still replicate the issue. the other store, i have yet to try... as for CS i didn't bother calling them yet

here is my story: hopefully it will be usefull for someone: i went to quite a few stores with different sories received(offerred all snap, bb, other crappy phones) i even asked directly at last two stores if i could exchange for TP2 and was denied on the spot both times(one girl rep even said quite angrily that its not possible to exchange tp for tp2 and never will be). Finally i gave up and just decided to stick with my beloved TP so i just went to closest sprint corp store(not 3rd party) and insisted that they fix it and not replace with crap phone or another TP. They fixed the keyboard and i was happy off. 2 Days later keyboard died again, went to same store again - fixed. about 5 days later the screen just got stuck in landscape mode, went to same store again and repair guy(same one that fixed it 2se before) told me i should really get a replacement since my TP's inside ribbon was quite worn out(his words), i said no way i dont want crappy snap and such, he said - what about if i can get you new(not refurbished) TP? i said no again since i have screen protector on mine and didnt feel like buying new one, rep said said what about if i can get you refurbished TP2? i said no again, he looked on computer again and asked what about bnib TP2? i said no just fix my damn TP i am tired of coming here. He went on back again and said he will try to fix it, 40 mins later he came out and said that unfortunatly my TP is beyond repair. I was quite mad at that point and he called the repair manager, that guy was very cool and we made a deal - i exchange my Tp for BNIB TP2 + Plantronics BT set(one thats $139 at sprint store). I finally got fed up and took the deal. When i picked it up the next day the same manager told me about HTC Spartan(leo/HD2) will be available for current TP owners as the replacement by christmas of this year. Damn i should have refused but oh well i will just buy HD2 when it comes out and sell TP2 on ebay i guess. My point is if you dont mention the replacement for TP2 and just want to have your TP fixed - eventually u will be offered TP2 as replacement and even BNIB! I wonder if anyone read this whole post, my bet is a no:)

HMM... i have yet to hear any leaks about hd2 on sprint
