Yeah, Sprint rep told me to wait till Wednesday for the refurbs to go in stock. If by then, the store doesn't show that its in stock, then I'll also push for a new one.

Well my radio froze up on me again. I'm going to Sprint now to show them exactly what is happening and demand a new TP2. I don't know how successful I will be but it is worth a try. I'll keep everyone posted.

Yes that is exactly what is happening. I can turn on the radio in the comm manager but I still can not make any calls. I usually have to reset 2 - 3 times before the radio comes on. I have done 4 hard rests in the last 2 weeks and the same thing happens. One time the radio stuck on and would not make a call. I tried taking out the battery 4 times and 2 soft rests with no luck. My first TP never did this any my wife's does not do that. I think that when you cannot make a call on a phone it is time to get a new phone. |

For the people with radio issues, if you aren't on the stock rom or radio you need to make certain it's not just the radio you are using. They aren't going to replace your phone for radio issues as a hard reset will just fix that, and regardless installing a new radio would probably fix that.
This is kind of ridiculous, there are people in this thread that haven't even really had problems that are getting NIB TPs, but i've had four of these things and had to buy one through insurance and am having a difficult time. Fortunately, I believe I've found a way to guarantee myself a TP 2, but it's pretty f*cked that people who have had program lockups are clogging the system. At least have a kb failure or something. At this point if this fails, I'm about to just grab another TP 1, as I can see that too many people ****ed up a good thing for everyone. And just an FYI, alot of people expecting to get TP2s in the upcoming days will be sorely disappointed to find they've been shipped TP 1s, just something someone might have told me. |

I am on the stock rom and stock radio. This is something that is a problem with the phone from day one and is getting worse all the time. Unlike many people who just want a new phone this is a legitimate problem. I do not mod my phone and as I said hard resets do not help.

I'm not happy with my TP1, but it makes and receives calls without too much problem and can do basic web surfing every now and again. The only reason I'm still using it is because of EnergyROM, the stock ROM sucks so bad I would have smashed the phone by now if I still had it.
It really burns my hide that Sprint sells crappy devices for prices that cost more than an entry level laptop. It even burns me more than if the device breaks you get a refurb, and the quality of refurbs I've received have been so poor that I wouldn't give one to my worst enemy. I'm going to upgrade to the TP2 at some point, but not through an exchange. With HTC and WinMo, it's always necessary to keep a backup device at home ready to be activated in case of device failure. |

does the wel list expire...like is this only going on for a certain amount of time?
Also the phone is under warranty so when does that expire? contract end date? or the time you got the phone? |

I am on the SERO plan. If I request a tour, will they just send me the phone without altering my plan? so that I can sell it and buy a pro2.

Yeah I'm without a phone right now and missing a lot of important communications...
This is quite unfortunate. They haven't even gotten me a TP1 as a replacement. |

OK so I spent my whole lunch hour (more like 2 hrs) between the corp store down the street from my house and customer service on the phone and I still have nothing. My corp store said the TP2 is still OOS and that they would get in "trouble" if they ordered my a TP2 NIP. They told me to call CS which I foolishly did however, I first called Tech support. TS was no help (big surprise there) and transferred me to CS who was supposed to help me get out of the phone. The CSR told me she could only get me a replacement TP. She then informed me that the Corp store I was just at had already ordered me a replacement TP even though I did not ask them to. The CSR was rude and not well informed and of no help whatsoever. So to recap I was told that Sprint is not sending out TP1 and was switching everyone with problems to other phones (they would not even send out a TP1), then they are sending out TP1 but refurbed (I have no faith in a refurbed phone if my NIP phone was already screwed from day one). I guess I will see what TP1 comes in. Don't get me wrong I still love the TP1 when it works and if I can get a new TP1 that works I'll be happy.

Went into one of the big Indy corporate stores today because my keyboard stopped working completely.
They told me to come back in half an hour. When I showed up, they told me they didn't have the part for my keyboard and had a phone on order for me. When I inquired as to what phone it would be, the guy couldn't tell me. I asked if it would be a refurb, and he assumed that that is what it probably was. I then inquired about getting a different model as I'm thoroughly disappointed. He said everything on the list would be a downgrade to what I have. He then blabbered on some tangent about the TP2, but didn't really get anywhere with what he was trying to say. Anyways, since he couldn't tell me what they've ordered, I'm just going to wait until they call and tell me. If I show up there and it's not a TP2, I'm going to make a huge stink. I've had this same number for 11 years now, and about 7 different models. Of all the phones I've had, this is the worst, and I told him that. Even the Mogul refurb they sent me before this was better than this hunk of junk. I've had it for 2 months, and it hasn't worked right since the day I took it out of it's box. I'm sick of going into roaming in areas I know have good service. If they refuse, I'm ultimately going to threaten to cancel and go to iPhone, even though I despise Apple and Apple products. |
