Alltel Touch Pro needs replacing, what will happen? - Page 2

I guess I'm gonna call them tomorrow and see what they tell me. I'll let you guys know how it goes. I talked to a vz employee today about the TP2 though, he told me even if I buy it at full retail I cannot activate it on my Alltel plan, I will have to change to a verizon plan. I really do not want to do this, I have the main line and 3 added lines and there is nothing even close in terms of price that vz offers.

somebody told me you dont have to get an vzw plan. you can keep your alltel plan.

hi guys. I had the touchscreen go bad on my alltel touch pro just over labor day weekend and went into the store for a replacement. Since it was under warranty they were supposed to ship me a brand new one. They claimed it would arrive around september 22nd.

I look in the mail today and find a package from alltel -- fantastic. I open it up and find a Touch Diamond inside with a note stating that either i can accept this touch diamond as a permanent replacement or use it as a loaner until the Touch Pro is available. The letter states that touch pros are currently on backorder with the manufacturer.

Apparently i should have just sent this in via the insurance rather than through warranty.

dang that sucks. my touch screen is going out also and am waititng for the merger so i can get a tp2 with my alltel contract

Well I just got off the phone with VZ and they told me they have Touch Pro's in stock and are sending me one overnight which will be here Tuesday. I guess we will have to wait and see if this is true or not.

While I was on the phone, I asked the guy about upgrading to the Touch Pro 2, and he said it was not possible on an Alltel plan, had to change to a Verizon plan. He sounded kinda like a real by the book kinda guy though, so who knows.

tell that guy to F off. honestly if everybody else can have the tp2 and still keep there alltel plan then i am going to. i know ppl here that have HAD alltel and vzw took over. and they still kept there alltel plan. it just became a vzw plan.
i want my 10 my cirlce numbers, my 7pm nights and weekends, my unlimited data INCLUDED. sorry i just hate how they tell you this but there are ppl that didnt have to switch. when are you going to become vzw? this month? if so just wait till you are officially vzw call them and tell them you want to upgrade. this is what a friend of mine did and it worked. they did say he needed a different plan but he didnt get one. then he called a couple days later to see if he was getting charged for data and they told him he didnt have to get a vzw plan.

sorry for the rant but honestly....we want to keep our plan. i "tried" to look for a vzw plan that was similar to the one i have and it would of went up 20 dollars and that was only taxes.

I dont know what mean by officially vzw, but if you're talking about the takeover my market has been officially vzw for a few months now. So I am considered a Verizon customer, but I still have my Alltel Plan with 4 lines and 4 Alltel devices. I just hopped on the live chat at verizonwireless.com and this is what I was told.

yeah thats stupid. ok answer me this why are there ppl that have the tp2 that is a verizon phone but didnt have to change there alltel plan?

edit: and if i seem rude or mad towards you i am not. its vzw that i am mad at.

Believe me, I totally understand and feel your pain. I don't actually know of anyone with the TP2 on Alltel, but I don't see any reason that it can't happen if you find the right VZ employee to do it for you. I know the Alltel ESN's cannot be activated on VZ plans, but I dont see why it wouldn't work the other way.
