Verizon “accidently” removed my Sprint - Touch Pro from their network

...and cannot re-activate it!!!

I was at my local VZW store last night helping my wife pick out a new phone. When they went to activate her new device they “accidently” removed my Sprint Touch Pro from my account. The sales rep said it was no problem and he would add it back however when he tried the system indicated the phone was not E911 capable and could not be added to the network.
The store manager and sales rep both seemed genuinely helpful but after over an hour explaining to them how I was able to get the phone activated 6 months ago and how the error they are getting is the result of the non-Verizon ESN no longer being in their DMD (a result of the earlier activation mistake) and it would have to be manually added before it would take *228 opt1, we got nowhere. I ended up leaving the store without a working phone and a promise from the sales rep that he would “make some calls” in the morning.

I called the store this afternoon and was informed that the regional tech center was not able to add ESN’s to the DMD so the rep was trying to contact someone at “headquarters”.

Does anyone know who or what team handles the task of adding ESN’s to the data base. I would like to pass this information on to the sales rep in order to get this taken care of.

Thanks!

Re: Verizon “accidently” removed my Sprint - Touch Pro from their network

man... i dont dont have an answer for you, but that sucks.. i seriously feel for ya honestly.. their not trying to offer u a VZW one r they? thatd be like salt on a wound right there...

do u have a backup device?? this could become an extremely benficial situation for you!!!

for real, screw the TP... u prob want a TP2 or Omina2 or Pro anyways right?? well here ya go, their handing it to you on a silver platter really... even if you dont have a backup, tell them youll take the cheapest or freeest phone they have for now... but you want CREDIT and NOTES in the system... this is screaming new phone man, just a matter of how long can u wait???

yeah yeah yeah, another kinda scam thing... not really though.. and in this case, if they really wont or cant get ur TP back on VZW, then they freakin deserve it anyways

**edit** or you could tell em you want out of your contract without ETFs, now your free to go anywhere and get the new customer prices

Yea if that happened to me, you bet id be getting something and they would be screaming rape. But in the end it would be 'consensual' since they initiated the bending over by a 'mistake'.

HUH, thats odd. just tried it and it said the ESN was already in service and wouldnt let me activate it. thats new. it has been a while since i tried it. guess they have changed there system. i would call CS and see how far that would get you. dont rely on the store.

Re: Verizon “accidently” removed my Sprint - Touch Pro from their network

Unfortunately my backup device is either my wife’s old phone (the one she just replaced last night when all of this happened) which is a freak’n pink LG non-touch screen POS or my old HTC Apache that cannot hold a charge for more than 45 minutes!

So… the sales rep was supposed to call me back after his shift ended to update me on his progress. To no surprise he forgot to call, and when I called the store and was directed to a second manager I was not greeted with the same level of helpfulness.

The conversation was rather short. The manager told me he was aware of my situation and didn’t think they could put a Sprint handset on a “Nation Wide” plan. I told him he was in fact incorrect as until about 22 hours ago I indeed had a Sprint handset on a “Nation Wide” plan and would still have a Sprint handset on that plan if HIS employee had not removed if from my plan WITHOUT my consent!

I have been with VZW for a really long time and have had nothing but great service from them so I really wanted to give them through the weekend to correct this issue. However, now that it looks like it will be three more days at a minimum without my TP I do not think I can handle it!

I suppose I will give CS a call and if that does not yield the results I am hoping for I may need to borrow the ESN from my Apache…
