EDIT: I use a Diamond. Does the TP not have this option?
Nope, same on the TP. But sometimes it's just more convenient to have it auto lock on power off.

Re: Automatic lock wm6.5?

theres a program called lockandoff. it doesn't run in the background, its a simple exe and it is small. map it to your long press talk if you don't use the button for voice command and you are good to go.

Re: Automatic lock wm6.5?

there should be a registry settings somewhere where we should be able to disable any settings to require a password. As soon as we find that, we should be as good as gold. I tried the Auto Lock (CSDEVCTRL), but i dont like un-needed apps running in the background leaking memory. HTC and windows are already bad enough in that case I will begin to look for a solution to disable the password part of the device lock included in wm6.5. If anybody else can help or chime in it would be much appreciated.

Hey p-slim, I think I am missing something...I installed the Device Lock 1.1.cab and after installation I run the app and it locks my device. My question is:
  • How do you configure the locking/ unlocking funcion?
  • If not configurable, how is this different that the lock function that comes with the WM6.5? Both is activated by running it and not configurable.

I think you missed the point. We are trying to use the device lock built into wm6.5, NOT a 3rd party app.

you have to use that 3rd party app, or otherwise as you have found out, the phone will not lock automatically without a password setting. These programs do use the device lock that is built into winmo 6.5

to be honest, this one works a lil better for me because you don't have to configure anything, but most people use device lock 1.1. i'm assuming all you want is after your phone goes to sleep on its own or you power it off, you want it to wake up with the lock on it. if that is what you want you have to use the program attached or device lock.
