Skype Incompatibility with TP?

I was curious about the reason behind Skype's non functionality with the TP, when they clearly offer a WinMo version of their application.

The funny/ironic part is, the actual example phone they use in the picture, is the Moto-Q, which I also own and it didn't even work either! Haha...

PS: If I had to 'guess' Skype would only work with models that have an integrated front facing camera for video chat... so, does anyone know of upcoming plans at Verizon to release such a magical device!?

Last time I tried, Skype worked fine on my TP. Now it was not video-chat enabled... it was strictly for IM/VoIP type calls... so if they've released a newer version that is video-enabled, maybe that one doesn't work. What problem do you have w/ Skype on your TP?

What!? Skype works like $hit for WM. They did a horrible job with the software. Their iPhone app works the way you would expect it to work for WM... like a damn phone. Instead it works like a shotty speaker phone in a hallway or underwater or something worse. What's more strange is that VoIP was allowed only this year for iPhone but they could have been writing WM software for years.

Awesome, finally got it to work! Love Skype at home, so now my friends can get ahold of me without the surcharge. I had to uninstall it and reinstall for some reason.

skype tells u flat out to use a headset, your fault for expecting more from not following their suggestion

It works on my TP also, I only use skype for on viewing video because opera don't have flash 9 or higher yet. Until then I'll still continue using Skype.

Do you mean viewing video such as youtube or hulu, or video calls? Also, have you tried SkyFire? It's far from perfect, and over-heats my TP - but it handles flash well enough to watch Family Guy (well, at least until Hulu deactivated the TP software!)
