I can't understand why they would give you a new phone, though. Imagine if it's the same for cars? I buy a brand new car, after a few months, the battery dies, I bring it to the dealership and they say "Yeah, defective battery. You need a new car".
I only had the phone for 2 days, not months. Where do they get a new battery from? Best Buy doesnt carry them, you want them to open a new phone and give me a new battery and put my defective one in there?

By the way, for those in here who arent 12 and immature. You may have a bad battery if it heats up when charging. My old one would get warm after about 90 min and would take about 3 hours to charge. The new battery does not at all and it shouldnt heat up.

How am I supposed to know that? Your post suggests that you have an early model (prior to Feb 09). Yeah, you come in with a problem with a brand new phone, they'll give you another one. That explains the part I couldn't understand.

No, they'd give you a working used battery from the ones they keep when they do returns. Obviously, since you only had your phone for 2 days, that wouldn't be acceptable.

I hope that's not directed at me...

Are you saying you get no heat at all when charging? How about on a long phone call, any heat at all? Because that's pretty much the only problem I've seen with the phone.

Not crazy at all. I had several phones back in the old dumb phone days that would be turned on and quickly drained by magnetic clasp cases. I also had a cheap case that would turn on the 6700 if the magnets lined up with the unit just right. I use my old (magnetic) Mogul case with the TP (the Velcro TP case is crap!)and it doesn't affect battery life.

I've never had a phone, dumb or smart, that didn't get warm during a long call, have you? You could almost cook with my old Startac after even a short call, it was nice on a cold winter day!

well, I'd expect some degree of warmth. But I have to say the TP heats up quite a bit during calls. It's bearable, but it gets hotter than my previous phones. Way hotter.

Re: For those with battery issues

Well Ive had my phone off the charger since 6:45 this morning. Ive had about a two dozen texts, 5 or 6 10 min phone calls and a browsing session of about 30 mins. Oh and a few Magicall filtered calls and text forwards... Im sitting at 80 % right now. Oh and the 5 mins of ringers from my alarm this morning...yea I didnt want to get up. lol. Its now 3:45.

FYI- I was joking about the 6700 batteries. I have 5 of them though. 3 standard OEM's and 2 extended. And those only lasted about 2 days before a massive charging session on the dock since only the extended would charge on the back of it.

Re: For those with battery issues

hey instead of all the speculation about who's battery lasts longer based on whatever variable usage patterns, run a battery logger for 1 full charge and show us some numbers

or as the kids put it: pics or it didn't happen.
