Re: Sprint TP on Verizon UPDATE! (NO LONGER WORKING)
i had my esn added to the vzw database and told them it was a sprint htc touch pro ppc 6850 and they made me take the data plan. some people are gettin them added as different devices and not have to take the data plan. like for example i have a motorola q9n this q was never released into the open and it had verizon add it to the database as a motorola q9c so that i didnt have to take the data plan because the device was released before november of 2008.
EDIT: ok now my data does not work at all. i did a ##786# reset to convert all of my EPST settings back to factory default. I followed the instructions in this guide i attached below to get the phone activated back to verizon and now no data, the voice and text works but no data please help.

Re: Sprint TP on Verizon UPDATE! (NO LONGER WORKING)
I have a spare Sprint TP that has been legally activated on Verizon (it was added to the VZ database by a VZ tech) that I will sell if anybody is interested??
It has the latest NFSFAN ROM right now (which is awesome) but I can easily flash it to whatever ROM somebody might want on it. The phone works perfectly on VZ & ALL features work (MMS/SMS/DATA etc etc etc) The screen on this phone has had a Brando screen saver on it since day one & has a clear Seidio indo-case also. PM me for more details. ~John |

Re: Sprint TP on Verizon UPDATE! (NO LONGER WORKING)
from what i understand the open network is only for devices that are "non consumer" phones. what they are allowing are devices such as monitors hooked up to oil rigs and all that monitor stuff. The open network thing has moved to an open app store instead. Besides i think that the govt mandated that lte sale requires some openess in it so any device can work on it, but who knows how that will be implemented

Re: Sprint TP on Verizon UPDATE! (NO LONGER WORKING)
Just sharing my experience getting Sprint Touch Pro working on Verizon yesterday.
It's a little long winded, but may help others in the same boat. Since I bought my Sprint Touch Pro I had it working on the Verizon network for about 9 months now. It showed up on My Verizon account as a generic "Grandfathered" device. I had NO problems with it that whole time. Last week, I bought the Touch Pro2, so I tried to switch the old Touch Pro over to my wife's line. It wouldn't allow it. So I called customer service and tried to get the device added to the network like everyone suggested in numerous posts. The first time it didn't work. The service rep tried to get it added. Asked me questions about where I got the phone, what model it was, etc. she talked to technical reps while I was on hold... The conversation ended with her explaining to me that she was told the device isn't allowed on the network because it doesn't have 911 service. Pleaded with her about how I had it on the network for over half a year, didn't help. She said it's just not allowed. I sat there for an hour trying to figure out what she meant and what I'm going to do with the phone now. Return it to stock programming for Sprint and sell it, I guess. That's when I figured out what she was talking about. 911 is a service through Verizon much like 611 or *228. I called customer service USING THE TOUCH PRO PHONE'S 611, just for emphasis to explain to the rep that the phone is ALREADY PROGRAMMED FOR THE VERIZON NETWORK. "I'm talking to you on the phone right now.", I said. This seemed to be the clincher, because as soon as the tech knew of this, they made a "ticket" for the phone to be added to their network. Less than 24 hours later, I was able to add the phone myself through the My Verizon "activate your phone" link. This went very smoothly. Once the phone was accepted, I was able to dial *228 option 1, and the phone was working almost perfect. I did however HAVE to add the data plan to complete the activation. MMS, Data, and Voice are all working fine, however I did have a constant roaming triangle, even after updating with *228 option 2. To get rid of the triangle icon, I had to manually add the 51425m PRL. Done. Sprint Touch Pro is back on Verizon working 100%.

Re: Sprint TP on Verizon UPDATE! (NO LONGER WORKING)
ok so im having a problem and im not sure if i can get any help. Whenever i go into EPST to change ANYTHING, it will ask if i want to update items and when i click yes, it will show the little circle thing that winmo 6.5 does when it is doing something then the phone shuts off, not like a resetting shut off, but a it just turns off, i have to hit the power button on the top to turn it on. i am an idiot and when previouly going into ##778 send certain fields would say mynumber@vzw3g.com and i would actually type that instead of 215-872-xxxx, i know stupid. any help would be greatly appreciated. BTW i have a sprint tp on verizon via the mobile files . com way lol shhhhh dont tell anyone

Awesome! When you called what did you say the issue was? Did you say you wanted to put a Sprint TP on the network?

Re: Sprint TP on Verizon UPDATE! (NO LONGER WORKING)
i just got off the phone with a vzw tech trying to get my # added to the DMD. after 20 minutes of trying he said the # was already in the DMD, but the device was black listed due to an incompatible device list. ever heard of that?
