Yeah....for sure. I am actually a lot more relaxed about installing new apps now knowing that I can hard reset (hard buttons only) and run sprite and have my sprint TP still be fine on VZN. everytime my phone would even hickup in the last few weeks, I thought the worst. It was painless and Sprite worked better than I ever thought. Good call.
PS...Touchpal is awesome. thanks for the recommendation John. |

Its not flashing a new rom that's the issue
its flashing a rom that uses the pesky autoupdater.exe. This was a huge issue back in november, but you should be okay with most roms. CFAY rom, juicy, mighty are general roms with no specifications; meaning you can flash on sprint tpro verizonized. just don't flash a sprint rom or you will be very very very sorry |

i think it stinks what verizon is doing but at least they accepted the phones. sprint and at&t wouldn't have done this(although sprint would probably give a great deal to get you). the good thing about sprint is because they're trying to attract customers, they pretty much bend over for you. they don't have the luxury of turning away customers like the big boys.(this is not a sprint vs. verizon thing)

Ok, so on Monday I spoke to a tech (Tier 2) rep who agreed to add the MEID's from my two Sprint TPs to the database. On Wednesday, line 2 (A Treo) quit working and gave a recording on all outbound calls that "the number you are calling from is not activated" so I figured, good, MEID change is done. Reprogrammed (using the tutorial) the phone and did *228. No go. Checked my accound online and found that that line now showed a Bleckberry Storm. Called TS and found that the MEID had been entered one digit off. They said they would re-submit.
On Friday, line 1 (my line) quit working, same recording. Reprogrammed the other TP with tutorial and did *228 option 1 and BAM! Working TP however, no data. Checked online and it to now showed a BB Storm. Called up TS and told them my data didn't work and assumed it was a provisioning error since I now had BB Data plan and provisioning on my account. They said "I will send this trouble ticket in and we'll get it resolved for you sir." Well about 10:30 this morning my now working (voice and text) TP reset itself. Guess what. Now I have data too!!!!!! ![]() Haven't checked to see what phone is showing in "My account" online but everything works! Now just waiting for them to re-enter the other MEID CORRECTLY. So, I guess if you talk to the right people enough times it can be done! Todd |

Here is a status update...
I still haven't seen an email response from Verizon. But Yesterday, I stopped by my local Verizon store in Salt Lake City. I was rather shocked as to how cool the tech support people were about it. They located my previously activated sprint TP ESN number, called into higher level tech support, and put in an official request to have my ESN added to Verizons list of acceptable ESN numbers. I'm told that I will have a follow up call in less than 7 business days to let me know if they can or cannot get it added. O.K. cross your collective fingers for me. If this works, I will find out the name of the form and post back. Either way, it was much more of a positive experience than I expected. Much more help than I thought I would get walking into a store with a Sprint phone. I'll post back on the result in about a week. |
