Sprint TP on Verizon UPDATE! (NO LONGER WORKING)

Here is a status update...
I still haven't seen an email response from Verizon. But Yesterday, I stopped by my local Verizon store in Salt Lake City. I was rather shocked as to how cool the tech support people were about it.

They located my previously activated sprint TP ESN number, called into higher level tech support, and put in an official request to have my ESN added to Verizons list of acceptable ESN numbers.

I'm told that I will have a follow up call in less than 7 business days to let me know if they can or cannot get it added. O.K. cross your collective fingers for me. If this works, I will find out the name of the form and post back.

Either way, it was much more of a positive experience than I expected. Much more help than I thought I would get walking into a store with a Sprint phone.

I'll post back on the result in about a week.

I have hard reset (with the hardware buttons) & flashed new ROM's to my phone probably 30 times & never had to reactivate it. I have also restored Sprite BU's with no problem.

I flashed it to Mighty 4.16 & restored a Sprite BU a couple days ago & made a phone call 30 seconds later. My phone is running perfectly & everything (voice/data/MMS etc) all work fine.

Man this sucks. Just ordered a Sprint TP to use on VZW and I have decided to say to hell with them. Sadly enough as a VZW employee I am now using a Sprint Touch Pro with SPRINT SERVICE! You have to do what you have to do... I put up with that piece of garbage that VZW calls a Touch Pro for 3 months and I could no longer lie to myself = It is not and never will be up to par with the Sprint Pro.

Must say Sprint service has improved since I had them 5 years ago.

You really think there's that big a difference??

I have compared my Sprint/VZ phone running Mighty 4.16 to a couple coworkers Verizon TP's & they run pretty much the same in A/B testing.

I am just trying to be unbiased here. I'm not a "fanboy" of any device or service.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the Sprint TP's (I have three of them) but it irritates me when I read post after post here saying the VZ version is a crippled piece of junk which is really not the case at all.

I do think it sucks that VZ cut down the memory & charges MORE for the phone (which I think is ugly), but I have two co-workers who have the VZ version & they actually work just fine in everyday use (They both LOVE the phones although they are not geeks like most people on this site)

One of them has been tweaked like crazy by me & it runs super (I would be perfectly happy with it) I flashed it to SSK 1.5 & did all the speed tweaks for him & if we A/B that setup next to my everyday TP running Mighty 4.16 the speed difference between the two is too small to even notice.

I actually prefer certain things in the VZ version. I hate the hardware KB in my Sprint TP, I think the buttons are way too small & stiff to be very useful & find the VZ version much easier to type on. Since I use Touchpal in T+ 99% of the time, that doesn't really matter to me however.

Verizon sucks, bottom line! 2004 When I was in need of service the store I went to sold all carriers, (before Sprint and Nextel merger) the sales person @ store said she could've sold me any carrier, commission was same, but she referred me to Sprint, reason, "Verizon is to arrogant and don't give anything", "not even nights starting @ 7". She further related that she travels across country to a lot of meetings involving cell phone co's and all agreed Sprint was getting better and stepping up their game. She also noted Sprint and Zerizon uses the same network and shares roaming towers so if I were to have the digital roaming plan I'll have the best of both worlds. Point is that once when Sprint were getting their gears in action Zerizon gained a lot of customers that if to switch carriers now will loose the free calling to in house customers or family members, point blank, also some are dooped by the "can u hear me now commercial". My neighbor said he's been with verizon for 18 years and have had the motto q for about 5 years, who keeps a cell phone for 5 years? WHEN I SHOWED HIM MY MOGUL @ THE TIME AND THE NAVIGATION APP, HE CLAIMED " i DID'NT KNOW A CELL PHONE COULD DO THAT" .

Exactly! that's the majority of Verizon owners in detail.
