Well, I thought I would put some input in. I have a TP from sprint that I unfortunately switched over to Verizon before i heard about the plug in *228. Well I tried and tried and talked and talked and transferred to higher tech reps but they told me the bottom line was they couldn't manually add the s/n to their system. I asked them why I was able to activate the 6800 I have currently when they told me specifically that they couldn't activate that either. They didn't have an answer for that question either. Long story short, I would like to return my TP to the Sprint version. I know how to flash the rom, etc but what about all of the MIP settings? Do I need to go back into those and reset them? What about the data? Any help would be much appreciated,

Here's the changes I made using EPST in preparation for activating on VZW. I haven't reset mine yet, so cannot verify that the process works.

MIP_MODE: From Mobile IP Only to Mobile IP Preferred
MIP Reg RETRIES: from 1 to 2
MIP REG RETRY TIME: FROM 2000MS TO 1750MS
MIP PREREG TIMEOUT: FROM 30 TO 0
Mobile Node-HA Authentication: From Disable to Enable
Send A Reg: From Enable to Disable
DOrmant Handoff Opt: From Disable to Enable

NAI: <MEID>@hcm.sprintpcs.com
MN HA SPI Value: from 4D2 to 12C
mn ha aaa spi value from 4d2 to 0
Primary HA Address 68.28.15.12 to 255.255.255.255

We need a mod in here to threaten people who keep up with the stupid carrier wars crap. This thread has been raped by the incessant "zomg i luv sprint, verizon sucks!" or "lolz @ sprint, verizon 4 ever!" Yes, thats really what it looks like on my end. We're here to discuss an issue and possible solutions. Go somewhere else to have your petty flame wars.

Agreed, things get out of hands once in a while, would be nice to have some enforcement.

Just hard reset with hardware buttons and ran sprite. all worked flawlessly. PHEW. just FYI....

Yeah....for sure. I am actually a lot more relaxed about installing new apps now knowing that I can hard reset (hard buttons only) and run sprite and have my sprint TP still be fine on VZN. everytime my phone would even hickup in the last few weeks, I thought the worst. It was painless and Sprite worked better than I ever thought. Good call.

PS...Touchpal is awesome. thanks for the recommendation John.

OK so I flashed to a different ROM and my data worked initially and then it quit. I think it was probably the error some of you have mentioned that went away after some time. Of course I figured something must have changed from the new rom and started digging. Now I'm unable to get my data working no matter what I try.

I have my PPP, HA, and AAA keys all backed up. I'm getting PPP Connection Error 11 and could use some help since I know if I take the phone off the account theres a great chance it will never get back on there. Also I've thought about calling in for a DMU reset but I'd like to avoid that for a few reasons. I'm not sure what would be causing my issues, if anyone could throw out some ideas I would be grateful.

I have an Alltel Pro btw.

Edit: Also note that if I go into ##DEBUG I get a 1 for EVDO auth which should be a good thing.
