Re: Sprint TP on Verizon UPDATE! (NO LONGER WORKING)

Sprint phones do actually operate on a different frequency, they just happen to run on the same one VZW uses as well.

Dude, that made very little sense even with effort. In context of this thread, that made no sense. Stop drinking and posting

I think he was stating (in a very poorly explained manner) that Sprint mainly relies on their 1900MHz PCS band while Verizon mainly uses 850MHz. Of course they are both CDMA and supported on each phone, thats where the term "Dual Band" comes from.

Re: Sprint TP on Verizon UPDATE! (NO LONGER WORKING)

I had a similar experience. I suddenly started receiving the error 67 code. When I opened up my phone using QPST service programming, I noticed that some of my settings had reverted back to the sprint defaults. I updated them again and then had to convince VZW tech support to do the little EIN reset trick to get the data working again. It took several tries to find a rep that would help me. Whenever I felt like they were going to probe too deep I said that I would have to call back later because I had somewhere to go.

I know this does not help activate new phones, but maybe can save some people who already have them.

Re: Sprint TP on Verizon UPDATE! (NO LONGER WORKING)

this just plain sucks. What's wrong with these providers and the games they play. I'd gladly pay to have a decent phone on a decent network. I travel all over the southeast and my choice is a gimped VZW phone on a solid network or a really nice phone on a slow network. What is wrong with the corporate dimwits at VZW? Look at what lengths people are willing to go to- buy a new expensive phone from sprint and get no plan discount, hack it to work on VZW which basicaly throws the warrenty out the window, and then have to play phsycological games with VZW service to get the sprint phone on the VZW network. No one is hacking a VZW phone to work on sprints network. I hope these a-holes figure this out and we wont have to go through this crap again. .

It should be just like land lines, anyone can use any phone on any provider. These jerks have thee business models that maximize profit and end u tripping on their own ****s. I repeat- I would gladly pay to have a decent phone on a decent network! Hello VZW!!! anybody home? If your wondering what that dark damp smelly sensation is, it's called having your head up your a...

I miss my good old XV6700......

Re: Sprint TP on Verizon UPDATE! (NO LONGER WORKING)

I actually went to my mothers recently, which no cell phones work (she lives in the mountains and has no landline phone even) And of course, my sprint baranded verizonized touch pro freaked out. I did the usual swap back to my 6800 and tried to swap back which usually works to alleviate the no service issue for me, and my touch pro will not activate.

I called CS, they told me the obvious that the ESN was not in their system but they made a note to have it re-added and they were sorry for the inconvenience. They said it would be no less than 3 days and may take as long as 10. I specifically told the rep that my monthly bill was only slightly less than the ETF and if I could not reactivate my device I would be going ATT. The rep was actually knowledgeable and conceded that it was a BS move and said he would try to personally take care of it. I have been with verizon for almost ten years because of the coverage on the west coast all the way up to alaska. But if they are going to stifle any open-network devices I am going to ATT. I don't care about the dropped calls and slow data, it will not be long before we are all on LTE so might as well bite the bullet.

I give them a week, if they add the ESN I stay. If not, I will be selling a Sprint touch pro, XV6800, Q and all my old motorola handsets for bargain pricess to get a Fuze.

My faith is waivering...

Re: Sprint TP on Verizon UPDATE! (NO LONGER WORKING)

I have a sprint TP on VZN and it works fine....so far. I like the vzn leaked ROM and have it all setup the way I want it.

Questions: What exactly should I avoid doing to make sure I don't loose service? If I hard reset (not using clear storage method) do I risk problems? Can I use my Sprite backup?

I have my keys saved to Word on my storage card. Is that ok?
