Re: Sprint TP on Verizon UPDATE! (NO LONGER WORKING)

It shouldn't take 14 days. I can't think of anything honestly that you have to do that takes 14 days. Up to 72hrs sounds more realistic to me. I am a tech at a service center for Sprint and have been very interested in this topic, so I think I will contact advanced tech suport and see if I can get my old VZW phone added to our data base. I will report back to let everyone know what happened.

I called about 9 days ago and was told it'll take 14 days to get it added. I thought I saw a few people post saying their's was added in 24-48 hours.
Once I got through to someone who knew how to do it, it took 24 hours.

I was trying for 5 weeks before I saw this post:

After that, it took three tries before I got a tech who could do it. She was awesome, totally helpful. She called me back 24 hours later and it was done.

Took about 24 hours from first call. Very helpful guy called me back, guided me through all the setup, even helped me get data working (Alltel TP btw)

Is it still commonplace to say Alltel or have they finally caught onto saying Alltel and you need to find a techie to legitimately add a Sprint phone. I was hoping to go grab a Sprint TP after using the Verizon one for a week, after all it's $550 bucks, why not get the best for the money.

The amount of people who actually call in and have the balls to lie their *** off are a minority. You can still get away with it...there are 50 techs for each one of us.

No kidding. Hell, for that matter the average cell phone customer doesn't even know (or care) that there is any difference between the Sprint version & the VZ version.

yeah, thats the directions I followed, but I called during the day. I've yet to try the night team. Heard people had better luck with the night support.

Thank you to everyone that has responded. I'll give it another go tonight.

Re: Sprint TP on Verizon UPDATE! (NO LONGER WORKING)

I called them again today and said I had an Alltel Touch Pro. The first person said they're getting off soon and will call back tomorrow. She said if she can not get it to work, she would try to add it manually. The second guy said that I would have to wait until Alltel completely merges with Verizon.

She asked me if it was activated on Alltel before, what should I say? That I got it straight from HTC and it was never activated?

Was activated on Alltel, your term is over and you want to switch to Verizon. If it's never been activated they'll ask you to get a Verizon phone.
