Missing the ha/aaa keys us usually the problem IMHO.

I have activated probably 30 or more Sprint TP's on VZ & in every case except the very first one I did (that one was a nightmare) data worked immediately as long as I set the modem setting in EPST to 1x only at first.

That didn't work in the very first one for some reason & I ****ed around with that stupid phone for over a week before I got data. I ended up copying the ha/aaa keys from an old xv6800 that had been on my account & then it finally worked. That was in early November & I still use that phone daily (although it's had about 30 ROM flashes since then).

Re: Sprint TP on Verizon UPDATE! (NO LONGER WORKING)

If you have another data capable phone (Blackberries included), switch to that and back. After spending 3 hours on the phone with a tech support rep he told me to at least try switching to another phone and seeing what happens. Turned out to be exactly what was needed (in essence, it's a DMU reset, although my HA/AAA keys didn't change between between my Blackberry and my TP).

Are you still having problems getting data to work?. Looks like you followed a "special" procedure to get your phone working in verizon's network.... interesting to know your experience...

Beyond that tho, Verizon's pricing is just too high for me, nevermind the way they handle their hardware.

I am currently using Sprint (touch Pro), Verizon (MotoQ), AT&T(iPhone). (San Francisco, CA) I travel all over the northern CA for business and the best data experience I have had is Sprint.

Sprint almost never drop and seem to have at least a bar even when I am out in the middle of nowhere. However I have had some delayed text experiences also, very rare though.

The verizon internet seems a little more sluggish (Maybe because I have a Q) but their voice is excellent. Have not had a dropped call for 2 years.

AT&T (in case you care) drops quite a bit when I am out in outlying areas. Or it calls and gives me the green "Call Failed" button after a few seconds. Funny, because it always seems to have 5 bars until I make a call, sometimes I just think the bars are not working on that phone.

Re: Sprint TP on Verizon UPDATE! (NO LONGER WORKING)

So i finally have the issue everyone has been talking about with every soft reset turning into a hard reset. I understand in order to fix i need to flash back to a sprint shipped rom.

My question is will i have to re-do all the qpst radio setting changes i made for the phone to be able to work on verizon. Im under the asumption that flashing a shipped will update the radio in turn changing all my settings.

I have to make sure because in the sprint diamond on verizon thread some people said verizon fixed the loop hole people where using to activate the sprint diamonds through verizon and if updating my radio will prevent me from reactivating on verizon tht is deffintly something i dont want to do.

This thread is all about that loophole being closed.....
From what I know, If you install that shipped ROM you will have to re-enter all the settings again and you will likely lose data as you wont be able to authenticate again to get new HA/AAA keys.

So I "think" the phone will work once you get the settings re-entered, but you wont be able to get data. And likely will never be able to unless you get your phone added the the DMD database.

Yes, a "special" procedure indeed. I believe it get's dirty looks if I talk about it here...

I haven't worked on it lately, I'll see if settings from my old phone will work. I actually wish samsung would keep their design of the i760 and make a newer phone. Really liked my old phone.

But whatevs.

Re: Sprint TP on Verizon UPDATE! (NO LONGER WORKING)

So, my current Sprint Touch Pro's keyboard went up.

If I were to buy a new one off ebay again...I will not be able to hack it on again like I used to?

No, that old procedure won't work.

You can still use all the previous steps we all used, but you will also need a VZ tech to add the MEID to the VZ database for you (they don't all know how to do this)
