Re: HTC Touch Pro Keyboard not working

My keyboard started up with this too. First repeating characters like it missed the fact that I released the key. Then after a while of using it, all keys just stop responding. Works again for a while after a reboot. Could it just be the connector inside the phone?

I mostly use my phone for Opera Mini. Not sure if that program could be messing with the keyboard.

Re: HTC Touch Pro Keyboard not working

i believe its just the connector or keyboard itself cause they just swapped keyboards for me and it worked fine ever since.

Re: HTC Touch Pro Keyboard not working

This actually happened to me right now just a sec ago, i got really scared. and i looked at the back of the keyboard. there's this screen on the back that moves with a spring. its a magnetic strip thats loose. i just fiddle with it a little and my keyboard was working again perfectly. ::sigh of relief::

Re: HTC Touch Pro Keyboard not working

this is a hardware issue..has little or nothing to do with custom rom flashing...its a quick 5 min fix...im repaired around 15 of these with only one person coming back for a replacement...

the insurance isnt bull**** either...i work for a sprint affiliate...get a free employee line and i still have insurance...

if you live in an area thats not sprint corp. your local stores may not have a service and repair center (such as my store). they dont have access to spare parts and arent trained to make repairs(any repairs i do i take parts from returned phones and theres certain things i just dont know how to do to be honest)

times like that its best to be able to just get it swapped out...w/o that insurance now you are looking at paying a fee or going through the manufactuer which from personal experience from samsung is not a fun ordeal...

its just easier

having insurance doesnt help me get paid...it helps you

just dont let dumb reps tell you have to go through insurance when you dont have to...if its a manufactuers defect its covered, IN STORE, FOR FREE

Re: HTC Touch Pro Keyboard not working

i would say the EXACT SAME THINGs u said in this post...mine died on sat, they replaced on mon....i had a ding or two...this phone is much better than my old TP...problem is, i cant get the volume to where it needs to be....I CAN BARELY HEAR MY CALLERS!

Better slider, brighter hard keyboard, and flush buttons on the front of the phone... And I don't have that nasty ding on the corner of my chrome from when i dropped it

take it to a sprint store...make sure its not a dealer store and they can either do repairs or swaps

^Yeah, if you have TEP, they don't really care where you got it from.

What exactly do you need to do hardware-wise, if you don't mind my asking? I've got alltel but the phone isn't my original (6800)
