Re: HTC Touch Pro Keyboard not working

I've had keyboard problems with mine for the past couple months! If the text isn't appearing or it starts repeating like crazy just push hard on the little spot below on the left side of the space bar and the text will enter or it will stop repeating. For how much this phone costs it's pretty crappy quality to have the keyboards in so many phones go bad. A pull out keyboard is meant for texting and with that goes heavy usage. I'm hoping the build quality on the TP2 improves drastically! Oh and my screen has also been all distorted for the past week. You have to kinda guess on what you are pressing. And yesterday it started lagging really bad, taking like 5 mins to send a text and unfreeze. So now I'm going to use Mymobiler to install Sprite on the phone to back up EVERYTHING I can. My replacement phone is supposed to be on it's way to the service center. Just wish I could get a NEW replacement through Sprint/HTC instead of a refurbished/used phone.. That voids the manufacturers warranty, grrr!

Re: HTC Touch Pro Keyboard not working

Just got my touchPro back after the keyboard failed.
They took a few days to get me a refurb phone.

I think the Keyboard issue, like most technical issues on these phones is due to the rediculous amount of heat they put out.
At least Sprint is pretty nice about fixing things under warranty now.

Good luck everyone.

Re: HTC Touch Pro Keyboard not working

I'm guessing Im gonna be out of luck getting my Sprint TP fixed since I flashed it for Verizon. I have insurance on it from Verizon, but I doubt it will do me any good at either store. Any ideas or am I stuck doing the press the space bar trick till I can buy a new phone?

Re: HTC Touch Pro Keyboard not working

There is a thread on the site somewhere that includes pics and instructions on fixing the keyboard yourself. I've done mine numerous times and its really pretty simple. All u need is a torque screwdriver and some electrical tape.

Re: HTC Touch Pro Keyboard not working

my keyboards been failing on me recently too, before considering opening up the keyboard and the hardware. try doing a power cycle. pop out the battery and hold onto the power button for a couple of seconds. Pop the battery back in and turn it on. This worked for me, hope it works for you guys too

Re: HTC Touch Pro Keyboard not working

Guys i just posted bout this in the other topic but.. make sure you do not pay for another through insurance or anyways. I just got off the phone with them and it is a manufacture defect and needs to be swapped out and sent back to HTC and they WILL not charge you for it as a claim or any other way. If they do, tell them i dont think so and call there bluff and set them str8 on it.

Re: HTC Touch Pro Keyboard not working

HTC touch Pro...Keyboard.

Im officially on my 7th phone in less than 6 months. Luckily I do have a replacement plan. All prior 6 keyboard lagged out and died within a month to 2 months. Sprint wont do anything about it. You pretty much have to go to corporate and get the issue resolved.

Im holding out for the HTC touch pro 2 hoping the issue will be resolved. And im keeping track of all issues and dates. Cause when I upgrade, ya better be sure I will get that one for free!

You should always keep track of issues, dates, amount of time it took to get rid of the issue, who you talked to, what they said and what you said, times you talked to them, etc etc.
More details you keep, the more the phone company listens to you.
