Re: HTC Touch Pro Keyboard not working
i'm going to take mine back to sprint tomorrow to have them fix/replace it. i canceled my insurance because i already used three claims in the last 12 months and the only reason i had insurance was to get new phones.. i have been back to them since canceling insurance and when they couldnt fix my treo 800 they gave me a brand new pro for free so i'm sure they won't make a big deal about not having insurance. i'm flashing it back to original sprint rom now, however i have my radio flashed to verizon's towers. should i flash my radio back too?

Re: HTC Touch Pro Keyboard not working
I have had the same issue with my touch pro...this is my 4th one in a matter of less than 4 months...and my newest one which is only 3 weeks old now has done the same thing ...it would start repeating a letter or if I hit the space bar it would just keep going. It worked for a while after I would shut it off then turn it back on but the keyboard fried again this afternoon. when I had this last one activated the rep on the phone said he had never heard of the issue and I told him well be prepared because this is my 4th phone and now its happened again. I have found no fix other than getting a new phone, and I spent over 2 hours on the phone with tech suppot when the first one did it. I am very dissapointed. I really dont like using the touch screen for texting or on the web.

Re: HTC Touch Pro Keyboard not working
I am on my 3rd TP. All my issues have been keyboard related. I called Sprint to tell them about the issue and they told me that I cannot have a replacement because I have had my allottment of claims. This is BS. Now I am stuck with a non-working keyboard until Feb when I am eligible for an upgrade. This is obviously a deffect and HTC needs to deal with this.

Re: HTC Touch Pro Keyboard not working
So I went into t-mobile today to check out the tp2 (which is really nice btw but wouldn't PAY for it since it won't run wm7) and then when I leave the store my kb stops working. Makes me think t-mobile wirelessly zapped my phone to break it or something lol. Anyways mine is my original, hasn't had many other problems, and has lasted me 8 months so I cant really complain too much. Now I'd like to try to get the tp2 when sprint releases it, should I wait and give it a shot or just try to get a new tp at the repair store? I also have the chipped chrome issue

Re: HTC Touch Pro Keyboard not working
it seems that ONLY sprint users have problems with the keyboard
I haven't seen anyone report this issue with a VZW Touch pro... hmmm... kinda makes me glad they stuck that stupid arrow up key in between the m and n |

Re: HTC Touch Pro Keyboard not working
Ok mine is starting to have the problem. I think I'll take a trip to the Sprint Store this weekend to get it replaced. I have the TEP added to this phone.
This is going to by my 3rd Touch Pro. The second one hit the floor when I tried tossing it to the bed and it bounced off and hit the floor and the vibrate didn't work properly! I just took it to Sprint and told them the vibrate was messed up for some reason and they gave me a brand new phone! lol!!!

There ya go...get a #6 Torx and go at it I fixed mine...worked for a week and then died again. Basically there are 3 fragile ribbon connections and one of them is directly above the thin metal piece where the battery goes in. Once you open it up, it's obvious there was a design flaw there. (if you open the back and slap the battery out, then push battery back in, you've got a real good chance of unplugging one of the cables) Just tonight i opened mine back up and used some heavy duty tape...next step is glue. Oh..one more tip: once opened, don't just press down on cables to reseat them. It's best to unplug and then replug in (trust me). |
