Re: Touch Pro Backup Applications/Software

I have Sprite Backup 6.5 and it works perfectly backing up my TP to my storage card or my PC. BUT when I try to back up my storage card (along with the TP main memory or by itself) to my PC, or whenever I check Storage Card on the custom menu, I get a Failed notice.

I'm about to get a new 16G storage card to replace the 8G card I thought I would never fill up. How can I copy all the applications from my old card to the new one without having to get new registration numbers or authorizations? (Sorry if this is a dumb question. I've never been able to do it before.)

starting to get a little dated. I use it for a few things, but it doesn't officially support 6.1

Re: Touch Pro Backup Applications/Software

Which is the best backup program i can use on my DIAMOND and TOUCH PRO to backup internet connections, registry entries and of course the ARCSoft MMS Composer and all of its settings. I want something CERTAIN not something that makes me lose all of my settings and stay up all night putting them back in.

You should not need new registration numbers or authorizations if you are transferring an application from one card to another. This only occurs if you switch devices (or hard reset your device). Most applications, even when on your storage card, recognize the main device ID, not a storage card ID. The easiest way to transfer info, for me, is to put your old SD card into an SD card slot on a PC, connect your device with the new card, and copy the files (or drag) from the SD drive to the device storage.

Re: Touch Pro Backup Applications/Software

Just when I want to love Sprite 6.5.4, I get no love. First time Sprite BU user, and a guy, so I did not read the manual, when thru the wizard and was able to create an .exe backup. I uninstall the Sprite BU program and went to restore it, and receive a "certification...trust" error and suggested that I re-install the Sprite BU.

I don't understand what happened? So I used SPB .exe backup'd file to restore, that would for the first time in 2 months without ANY ERRORs! Prior to this restore, I encountered many, many, many errors from the restore process NEVER from backup process. Go figure...

Re: Touch Pro Backup Applications/Software

Ala I am still on the fence between SPB and Sprite. I had such high hopes from Sprite reading this thread.

I got more and more frustrated with SPB due to many errors I encountered from the RESTORE PROCESSS, I repeat restore process NEVER-EVER from the backup process.

People need to qualify their voting with a holistic approach, include their experiences with both backup and restore processes. I think this would help many people.

Also from my limited sampling, and I am testing as I type this, their are some points favoring both SPB and Sprite.

From backup process
SPB: smaller file size 115MB vs 121MB, breaks up into two files a generic SPB initiator .exe and then the dated .exe file name.

Sprite: One file .exe

Stay tune for restore process....
